Honestly, minus the whole nightmare of D***** T**** getting elected, I shall look back on 2024 quite fondly. This year brought us the most epic season of Love Island USA there ever was, Moo Deng, 10,000 iconic pop girl albums, a healthy amount of feuding, “this is gonna ruin the tour,” holding space, and intriguing celeb couples like Gracie Abrams and Paul Mescal. As a pop culture expert by trade, I have of course been ruminating on what’s to come in 2025. Based on a careful analysis of recent years but mostly just my intuition and random thoughts, I present: my official list of 2025 pop culture predictions. And if none of these come true, you never saw this.

- Blake Lively directs or stars in a music video for a Reputation (Taylor’s Version) vault track
- We get the trailer for Taylor Swift’s feature film and Zoë Kravitz, Sabrina Carpenter, Margaret Qualley, and/or Dylan O’Brien are in it
- White Lotus season 3 is criticized for being offensive and not as good as the first two seasons
- At least one former 1D member releases a song about Liam Payne
- Selena Gomez gets nominated for an Oscar, haters get mad, she takes a social media break
- The following engagements happen: Tom Holland and Zendaya, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater
- Blue Ivy Carter becomes a big-time actress with a major TV show or movie
- Beyoncé releases a rock album
- “Espresso” wins record of the year at the Grammys
- Chappell roan wins multiple Grammys and gives an insane speech that makes headlines
- Ryan Murphy announces a Luigi Mangione movie or series
- Leah Kateb, JaNa Craig, and Serena Page announce a PPG reality show or they co-found a company
- Rob Rausch dates a pop star (probably Beabadoobee)
- Gracie Abrams and Paul Mescal break up and she writes an album about it
- Jake Shane meets Ariana Grande and loses his shit… possibly at the For Good premiere
- We finally get the bombshell Scooter Braun exposé
- Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez reunite in some capacity
- Sabrina Carpenter makes a Short n’ Sweet tour movie or documentary
- Doechii and Kendrick Lamar collab
- Euphoria gets canceled
- Shawn Mendes defends Justin Baldoni
- Grace O’Malley goes on Call Her Daddy, but doesn’t say much about Brianna Chickenfry
- There’s a Hannah Montana and/or Camp Rock remake
- It’s the year of Addison Rae: She’s cast as Britney Spears in the biopic and she releases a smash hit album
- Kylie Kelce becomes one of the most important pop culture figures of our time
- Amelia Dimoldenberg and Andrew Garfield hard launch
