The 27-year-old reality star, mom to six-year-old Stormi and two-year-old Aire, said she wants to protect them from social media for “as long as possible.” Any details or photos shared of her children must come from her or her children’s father, and she hopes the kids won’t have their own social media accounts “until they move out of the house.”
The Kylie Jenner Cosmetics founder said: “When I do share my children, I want it to come from me or their father. It’s no socials for as long as possible.” However, during an interview with ELLE, she revealed that her eldest child has seemed to find a way to work around the rule, saying: “Stormi will come home and she’ll know full TikTok dances. I’m like, ‘Where did you learn this?”
Kylie Jenner enjoys sharing glimpses into her kids’ lives on social media, but she is careful to keep them safe online until they are older. On Tuesday, she posted a drawing of a dog that her daughter had done with the words, “I love you, mommy, I miss you.” She also posted another image of Stormi’s artwork, an orange kitten, with the statement, “My daughter is an artist.”
Kylie was just 19 when she fell pregnant with Stormi. In an interview with British Vogue, she revealed: “Stormi wasn’t planned. It happened, but I obviously knew I wanted to have her. I wanted children so bad.” Detailing her journey to motherhood, the mum-of-two explained: “I was 19 when I got pregnant, 20 when I had her… It was wild… Looking back at it, I give myself more empathy and grace. But when I was a teenager, even my family were like: ‘You aren’t that young.'”
She added: “I think maybe I carried myself [a certain way] or I’d already been working for 10 years. It didn’t hit me [straight away]. But it was a huge life change.” After giving birth twice, Kylie Jenner fell into a long period of postpartum depression. Stormi’s lasted a year… Aire’s around the same length of time. I’m going to be 27, and I’m finally feeling like myself again, and [looking back], I think, being pregnant, I wore sweatpants every day; I didn’t have time to figure out even some of the little things in my life, and then postpartum lasted a year. Mentally, it’s really hard. Hormonally, it’s really hard. I didn’t know how to dress,” she revealed, speaking to Vogue from Manhattan.
Despite being upfront about the trauma she endured as a young mother, Kylie Jenner has not allowed it to control her. “Regardless of what I’m going through, how I look, or what the internet posts about me that day,” she stated. My children simply adore me without conditions when I get home.
“They simply have an obsession with me, which has simplified life. I’m thinking, ‘Well, I don’t really need affirmation from other people because I have these little kids at home who love and adore me and believe I’m the best person in the world.'”
