Nara Smith Claps Back at Critics
The club scene ‘simply wasn’t for me,’ Nara Smith responded to remarks about her lifestyle.
When critics questioned Nara Smith’s lifestyle choices, she posted the ideal answer.
The 23-year-old mother of three revealed in an interview with Elle published on October 24 that she “always giggles at remarks that say, ‘You should be at the club living it up’” when people question her decision to marry young and have children.
Originally born in South Africa, Nara explained that she grew up in Germany and was discovered by a model scout at 14, so she already had much life experience at a young age.
“I was traveling the world myself at 14,” she said. “I went to clubs when I was 16. You can drink a lot earlier in Germany. I’ve been there, done that, and it just wasn’t for me.”
Nara met her now-husband, Lucky Blue Smith, in 2019 and revealed that they both “immediately locked into their relationship.”
“When he asked me to be his girlfriend, I didn’t say yes,” she said. “I literally said, ‘I take this very seriously.’ And he was like, ‘Me too.’” The pair then married in February 2020, and she most recently gave birth to their third child in April 2024.
Nara first went viral after she posted her recipe for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for her kids. She has since turned her elaborate cooking videos into a brand, garnering over 10 million followers on TikTok.
She stated that she “genuinely [thinks] they’re easy,” adding, “I don’t think they’re hard at all,” despite what some internet users have commented about her intricate recipes.
Although Nara’s lifestyle has drawn criticism, she disclosed that she and Lucky genuinely divide the cost of child care. She clarified in the interview that he assists with the children in the second part of the day when she usually works on her content.

Nara has repeatedly demonstrated that she can laugh at herself and is not affected by online gossip. Ariana Grande most recently played Nara in a get-ready-with-me video for the Academy Museum Gala.
“This is so intense,” Grande joked while doing the voiceover. Before giving the influencer her best impersonation, she said, “All I can think of is Nara Smith.”
After seeing the video, Nara responded to a follower on Instagram by saying she “giggled.”
