A Twink & A Redhead On Iconic Duos, Fall Trends, Jonas Brothers

Sing it with me: Name a more iconic duo than a Twink and a Redhead. A Twink and a Redhead! You can’t, of course. Trick question. Comedic-pop stars Grant Gibbs and Ashley Gill were destined to join forces and shape culture with envelope-pushing tracks like “Panera” and “Barnes & Noble.”

Their inspirations? “Lewis and Clark,” Grant revealed to Betches. Ashley chimed in, “For sure what those two gentlemen did. Manifest destiny it’s something we think about on a daily basis.” She added, “Other duos… Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, undoubtedly. I really hope those crazy kids can find a way back to each other.”

They also look up to the OG duo: Adam and Eve. “You know, they were the first ones to walk the tightrope of fame,” Grant explained. Naturally, they primarily “model their career” after Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. (Taylor and Ed wish they had Grant and Ash’s songwriting skills.)

Speaking of iconic duos, a Twink and a Redhead recently teamed up with Motorola and Swarovski for The Brilliant Collection, a dazzling tech bundle featuring the Motorola Razr 2025 and Moto Buds Loop, both decked out in Swarovski crystals. During their conversation with Betches, Grant and Ash spoke about the exciting partnership, fall trends, and their dream musical collabs. They also offered extremely helpful relationship advice for the lovers out there.

Why Their Motorola x Swarovski Collab Just Makes Sense

The collab felt like a natural fit for Grant and Ash. After all, Motorola and Swarovski are an iconic duo in their own right. “They’re coming together and shedding light on other iconic duos like Grant and I,” Ash said. “And the products that they’re creating, the Motorola, the Moto Buds Loop, and with everything in the brilliant collection, it was like highlighting this like other iconic duo of tech and looking gorgeous.”

“That’s kind of us, you know,” Grant pointed out. “Like, we are the future and we’re also fashion.” He shared that he first heard of Swarovski back when he was an all-star cheerleader and Swarovski crystals were embedded into his uniforms. “So that really excited me that Motorola wanted to work with such an iconic brand that has just always been like kind of in my zeitgeist growing up too,” the comedian (and apparently former cheerleader) added.

Their Favorite Fall Fashion Trend

Cable knit sweaters are having a moment this fall, according to Ash. “Men in sweaters,” she answered when asked about her favorite fall trend right now. She clarified, “Specifically cable knit sweaters. I think Chris Evans laid the blueprint in Knives Out one with that gorgeous cream colored cable knit. And I think Conrad Fischer is doing a lot for the cable knit community in The Summer I Turned Pretty.” She hopes this trend continues because it’s “definitely” working on her.

When Grant had no clue what she was talking about, Ash defined cable knit sweaters as “gorgeous and chunky.” She quipped, “The chunkier the better. The chunkier, the sluttier.”

“You can’t say that,” Grant replied with a faux-serious expression.

Their Very Best Relationship Advice

Real fans know that Grant and Ash are romantic soulmates as well as musical soulmates. I’m not surprised they had elite relationship advice to offer. “You know… Love is love,” Grant shared.

“I think that’s really beautiful,” Ash said in agreement. “My relationship advice is: Get your man’s passcode, get onto his Motorola Razr, and read his texts because you can’t trust anyone. That’s something that’s a really big pillar in our relationship. I’m gonna invade his privacy, and I think that’s fine.” Now, that’s romance.

Grant noted that it’s also important to just let your man be himself. “Let him be a diva if he wants to be a diva,” he suggested. Ash added, “It’s 2025. God forbid, right?”

Dream Musical Collabs & Working With Nick Jonas

@The Jonas Brothers (because they’re definitely reading this), are you ready for the collab of a lifetime? A Twink and a Redhead are formally offering you a feature on their upcoming hit single about Disney adults. “The Jonas Brothers would be a gag,” Grant said when asked about their dream collab. “It really would be on us to decide if we want to work with them.” I sincerely hope Nick, Joe, and Kevin take advantage of this incredible opportunity.

Grant and Ash actually already worked with Nick Jonas on their InStyle intern series. Ash described meeting Nick as an “out of body experience” and Grant added that he was “so fun and just ate it up.” Apparently, Nick’s a fan of “Panera”…  I knew he had taste.

Ash has a dream to collab with another tiny, relatively unknown indie band: 1D. “I think Grant and I could have the power to bring the four remaining members of One Direction together in song,” she said. “I think we should all collab. I think we can bridge the divide.” Back in the day, her “ass was up till 2 a.m. reading this Harry Styles fan fiction.” Respect.

What’s Next For A Twink And A Redhead?

Prepare yourselves for the Disney adults song! Grant and Ash chose to address the topic because Disney adults are “underrepresented and when they are represented, it’s nasty.” Thank goodness they’re taking a stand.

Grant also teased: “Maybe in the near future we’ll be on the road doing a little something something.” Stay tuned.
