We can always rely on Hollywood for certain things. Every year, movies will make us laugh and cry, celebrities will wow us on the red carpet, and celebrity relationships will send us on some wild rollercoasters.
After all, when it comes to celebrity couples, we can’t help but “ship” and root for them when, chances are, their eventual splits will leave us shocked and disappointed.
In 2024, Hollywood gave us some surprising splits. Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher, for example, announced their separation after a whopping 14 years of marriage and 20 years together. “After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are finally putting our racquets down,” Fisher said in a statement at the time.
Another major shocker this year was when Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum called off their engagement. Shortly after the Blink Twice press tour, where they gushed about working with each other, sources confirmed they had gone their separate ways.

After three years of dating, Summer House stars Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover have split up. DeSorbo announced the news on her podcast, the Giggly Squad, saying that they “have decided to no longer be together.”
“I have so much love and respect for Craig,” DeSorbo said, per People. “I think he is one of the best people I have ever met in my entire life. I will remain the biggest fan of him and want the best for him and he truly will get the best because he is the best.”
“But with that said, I think it was just the right decision for both of us moving forward in our lives and the direction in our lives that we didn’t force,” she explained of their decision.
“I love him, I think he loves me,” she added. “I think we will remain friends. No one did anything. It wasn’t a bad thing. I think we both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn’t want, and I think that’s extremely powerful to be able to voice how you’re feeling in real-time and what you want for your future.”
The two had been dating since the summer of 2021.
Sabrina Carpenter & Barry Keoghan
Fans were disappointed on Dec. 3 when the news broke that Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan were no longer an item after a year of dating.
“They are both young and career-focused, so they’ve decided to take a break,” an insider told People.
While the two remained low-key throughout their relationship, they didn’t shy away from supporting each other. In October, the Saltburn star even starred in Carpenter’s music video for her hit song, “Please please please.”
“I was like, ‘Who’s the greatest actor that I can find for this music video?’ And he was next to me in a chair,” Carpenter said of the decision on CBS Sunday Morning. “And he was so excited about it.”
Ben Foster & Laura Prepon
That 70s Show star Laura Prepon is headed to a divorce after her husband of six years Ben Foster filed on Nov. 12, Us Weekly reported. In the documents, Foster claimed “irreconcilable differences” for the reason for the split and listed their date of separation as Sept. 9, 2023.
Prepon and Foster were first romantically linked in 2016 and exchanged their vows in 2018. They share two kids: a daughter named Ella, who was born in August 2017, and a son who was born in February 2020.
Valerie Bertinelli & Mike Goodnough
Valerie Bertinelli and her boyfriend Mike Goodnough have gone their separate way, People reports.
“They are no longer in a relationship,” a source told the outlet.
Bertinelli and Goodnough had been together since January of 2024 and made their red carpet debut at the 51st annual Daytime Emmys Awards in June.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp and Edwin Arroyave are divorcing after 13 years of marriage.
In a message posted to Instagram on Nov. 2,she revealed they were divorcing, per People. “After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” she said. “My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter.”
The pair met in 2008, and then married in 2011. They welcomed three children together.
Zoë Kravitz & Channing Tatum
On Oct. 29, sources confirmed to People that Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum called off their engagement and relationship after three years together.
The couple, who started dating on the set of Kravitz’s directorial debut Blink Twice, got engaged in 2023. The couple were last seen together on Oct. 6 at a play in New York City and, since then, Kravitz has been seen out without her engagement ring on.
Sutton Foster & Ted Griffin
Broadway legend Sutton Foster filed for divorce from her longtime husband, screenwriter Ted Griffin, on Oct. 22, People reports.
The couple had been married since October 2014, after getting engaged in August 2013. They share a 7-year-old daughter Emily, who they welcomed via adoption in the spring 2016.
Zach Bryan & Brianna LaPaglia
Zach Bryan announced the end of his relationship with Bri LaPaglia aka ‘Brianna Chickenfry,’ on Oct. 22.
“Addressing something: Brianna and me have broken up with [each other] and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart,” the country star wrote on Instagram Stories. “She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I’ll always thank her.”
“I have had an incredibly hard year personally and struggled through some pretty severe things,” he continued. “I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways. I am not perfect and never will be. Please respect Brianna’s privacy and space in this and if you have it in your heart, mine too.”

LaPaglia also spoke out on social media.

The two had been together publicly since July 2023.
Jason Tartick & Kat Stickler
Former Bachelorette contestant Jason Tartick and content creator Kat Stickler have called it quits.
“I am sad to share that Kat and I are no longer together,” Tartick wrote in a statement on Instagram. “It’s fair to say that I love hard with all my heart and fall fast. Sometimes in life, that works out and other times it doesn’t. This time it didn’t.”
“Kat has brought me so much happiness and light, she brought out parts of me I never knew existed,” he continued. “I will forever be grateful for her and of course, sweet and MK,” he wrote, referring to Stickler’s 5-year-old daughter.

They got a lot of pushback for their age gap, with her being 27 and he 24, but they kept updating fans on their romance. However, Cavallari confirmed the split during Alex Cooper’s Unwell tour stop via People.
Joshua Jackson & Lupita Nyong’o
Almost a year since they were first spotted together, Joshua Jackson and Lupita Nyong’o broke up. The news first broke when Jackson was pictured by Deuxmoi with German model and brand manager Nastassja Roberts in the Grotesquerie premiere.
Shortly after, Nyong’o confirmed her single status. “If I’m ever so lucky to be in a romantic relationship again, it’ll be because of [my cat],” she told Harper’s Bazaar.

On Sept. 23, Victoria Monét and her former partner John Gaines announced they had gone their separate ways 10 months ago, and have been co-parenting their daughter Hazel ever since.
“We spent the last 10 months trying to respectfully and privately navigate the fact that we are no longer in a relationship,” they wrote in a joint statement. “We still completely adore and respect each other” but “are not a couple anymore,” they wrote, assuring fans “no infidelity, toxic behavior nor drama” took place between them.
Nikki Garcia & Artem Chigvintsev
Two weeks after Dancing With the Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev was arrested for domestic violence, his wife, Nikki Garcia, filed for divorce on Sept. 11. “She continues to ask for privacy for her and her family at this time,” her rep told E! News.
Garcia and Chigvintsev, who share 4-year-old son Matteo, got married in August 2022. They had been together since 2018.
Rachel Zoe & Rodger Berman
Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe announced her split from husband of 26 years Rodger Berman via a joint statement posted to her Instagram on September 9.
“After 33 years together and 26 years married, Rodger and I have come to the mutual decision to end our marriage,” the announcement began. “We are incredibly proud of the loving family we have created and our countless memories together.”
The pair share sons Skyler Morrison, 13, and Kaius Jagger, 10.

Leah Remini & Angelo Pagán
After 21 years of marriage, Leah Remini and Angelo Pagán are going their separate ways.
“Well, here we are. After 28 years together and 21 years of marriage, we have decided to file for divorce,” the pair announced in a joint post on Instagram.
“This decision came after a lot of thought and care, and as hard as divorce is, we are approaching this with a positive outlook because we know it’s what’s best for us,” the statement continued. “We are proud of how we have worked through this together.”
Remini and Pagán got married back in 2003.
Jax Taylor & Brittany Cartwright
On Aug. 27, Us Weekly reported that The Valley star Brittany Cartwright filed for divorce from Jax Taylor, six months after they annouced their separation.
The Vanderpump Rules stars married in 2019 and share a 3-year-old son, Cruz.
Cartwright cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split and is seeking primary physical custody of their son.
Cartwright first announced the split on the pair’s joint podcast When Reality Hits.
“Many of you guys have been asking me about Jax and I and our relationship,” she began. “I just think it’s important to be real and honest with you guys because our life is definitely — we’ve shared so much of our life with you guys. So, I feel like … I don’t want to seem like I’m lying or anything like that so I think it’s important for me to say this.”

On August 22, Rumer Willis announced that she had split from boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas via an Instagram Q&A, writing: “I am single momming it and co-parenting.”
Willis and Thomas started dating in 2022 and welcomed their daughter, daughter Louetta Isley Thomas Willis in April 2023.
Joey Lawrence & Samantha Cope
After over two years of marriage, Joey Lawrence’s wife, Samantha Cope, filed for divorce on Aug. 13, People reports. According to the papers, the couple, who share 1-year-old daughter Dylan Rose, separated two months earlier on June 7, 2024.
Cope also requested to block the court’s ability to award either side spousal support and is seeking full physical custody of their daughter while permitting Lawrence visitation at her discretion.
The pair previously got married on May 1, 2022, in Temecula, California.
Ben Affleck & Jennifer Lopez
After much speculation surrounding their split, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are officially over for a second time. According to TMZ, Lopez filed for divorce in Los Angeles on Aug. 20. The date of separation is April 26, 2024.
Affleck and Lopez, who reconciled back in 2021, first tied the knot in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022. A month later, on August 20, they got married for a second time in front of friends and family at their Atlanta compound.
Sara Foster & Tommy Haas
Sara Foster and Tommy Haas split after 14 years together, according to an August 15 report from People.
The entrepeneur and the ex-tennis pro had been together since 2010 and share two daughters, 13-year-old Valentina and 8-year-old Josephine, but never married.
Tommy Fury & Molly-Mae Hague
Stars of Love Island UK season 5 stars Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague split after five years together. The couple met on the 2019 season of the show and welcomed a daughter, Bambi, in January 2023 before getting engaged that July.
“I am extremely upset to announce that mine and Tommy’s relationship has come to an end,” Hague posted on her Instagram story. “After five years of being together I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way.”

Cardi B and Offset have split after six years of marriage. Page Six reported on August 1 that Cardi B filed for divorce, for a second time, and is seeking primary custody of their two kids, their daughter, Kulture, 5, and son, Wave, 2.
The couple married in 2017 but have split up several times over the years, including in 2020 when Cardi filed for divorce from the Migos member before getting back together. Offset has been accused of cheating on his Grammy-winning wife several times.
Vanessa & Cameron Mathison
On July 31, Vanessa and Cameron Mathison announced that they had separated after 22 years of marriage via a joint statement on Instagram.
“We enter this new chapter with deep love, kindness, and respect for each other. We hold gratitude in our hearts for the wonderful years we shared together,” the General Hospital stars wrote.
The couple share two children, their son Lucas was born in 2003 and their daughter, Leila, was born 2006.
Josh & Christina Hall
On July 16, TMZ broke the news that Josh Hall filed for divorce from Flip or Flop host Christina Hall after three years of marriage. In the filing, he cited “irreconcilable differences” and listed their date of separation as July 8.
The couple have no children together but Christina does have two kids from her first marriage to Tarek El Moussa and one child from her marriage to Ant Anstead.
Billy Ray Cyrus & Firerose
Billy Ray Cyrus filed to annul his marriage to his wife of seven months, singer Firerose, listing their date of separation as May 22.
The 62-year-old cited “irreconcilable differences and “inappropriate marital conduct” as the reason for their breakup and claims their marriage was “obtained by fraud,” reports TMZ. Cyrus announced his engagement to the Australian singersongwriter in November 2022.
Charles Spencer & Karen Spencer
The 9th Earl Spencer and younger brother of the late Princess Diana, Charles Spencer, and his wife of 13 years Karen Spencer are divorcing. Billionaire oil heiress Ivy Getty, the great-granddaughter of oil tycoon J. Paul Getty, filed for divorce from husband Tobias Engel in January, according to an April 16 report in Page Six.
The couple married in a private ceremony in 2020 before having a more lavish ceremony in 2021 that was officiated by Nancy Pelosi and appeared in the pages of Vogue.
The couple reportedly had a prenup in place.
Alexia & Todd Nepola
On April 15, Page Six confirmed that Real Housewives of Miami star Alexia Nepola was splitting from her husband, Todd, after he filed for divorce on April 11.
The real estate broker claimed in the filing that their marriage is “irretrievably broken.” Alexia and Todd tied the knot in 2021.
Gerry Turner & Theresa Nist
Almost three months after they tied the knot in a televised affair, former Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist have called it quits. The former couple announced the news on April 12 on Good Morning America.
“Theresa and I have had a number of heart to heart conversations and we’ve looked closely at our situation — our living situation — and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s time for us to dissolve our marriage,” Turner said, per Us Weekly.

Just three months after being released from prison, Gypsy Rose Blanchard announced that she and her husband, Ryan Anderson, had called it quits.

“In light of recent stories, I feel I have been left with no choice but to let you all know that Caspar and I privately separated some time ago,” Goulding wrote on Instagram Stories, per People. “We remain the closest of friends and have been successfully co-parenting with our son’s best interests at heart.”
Goulding and Jopling share a two-year-old son named Arthur. “We are committed to protecting our family privacy and thank people in advance for respecting our wishes – we won’t be commenting further,” Goulding’s statement continued. “Thank you.”
Jopling, for his part, also put out a statement on their split. “I feel (sadly) that I need to say something on mine and Ellie’s current relationship, that I hope more than anything will make any final tabloid speculation disappear,” the art dealer wrote. “Ellie and I made the decision to separate some time ago.”
“Our immediate family and close friends have known for some time – otherwise we chose to do what we could to keep this private,” he explained. “Ellie and I remain the closest of friends and, most importantly, ‘co-parents’ to the best kiddo in the world, Arthur. This is the last I want to say on this – and please ask that you respect mine and Ellie’s privacy. Thanks a lot Caspar.”
The two had been married since 2019.

Armie Hammer‘s relationship with Marina Gris was entirely unknown until she announced on Jan. 11 that they ended their engagement a month earlier.
“It’s with a reflective heart that I announce the end of my journey with Armie, a chapter that’s been deeply personal and warmly significant in my life and closed a month ago,” she wrote in a statement, according to Page Six.

On Jan, 8, Kim Marlowe filed for divorce from Milli Vanilli’s Fabrice Morvan, according to documents obtained by People.
The pair’s marriage was largely unknown and doesn’t seem to have had a romantic component for quite some time, if at all. In a 1997 interview with the Los Angeles Times, Marlowe was described as Morvan’s “manager and best friend.”

In a Jan. 1 statement shared on Instagram, Backstreet Boys member A.J. McLean announced that he and his wife Rochelle were divorcing after 11 years of marriage.
The couple, who were separated for a year before officially calling off their relationship, share two daughters: 11-year-old Elliott and 6-year-old Lyric.
