Angelina Jolie Alleges Brad Pitt,
New Court Filing
More details are emerging about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie past relationship in a new April 4th court filing from Angelina Jolie regarding the former couple’s ongoing legal battle over their French winery, Chateau Miraval.
Physical Abuse Allegations
In the filing, the actress alleges that Brad was physically abusive to her before the infamous plane incident in 2016, after which Angelina filed for divorce. The filing reads, “While Pitt’s hit history of physical abuse of Angelina Jolie started well before the family’s September 2016 plane trip from France to Los Angeles, this flight marked the first time he turned his physical abuse on the children as well. Jolie then immediately left him.”
Custody Battle
Since the couple was declared legally separated in 2019, Brad and Angelina Jolie have shared custody of their six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox, who were each between the ages of 8 and 15 at the time of the alleged plane altercation.
E! News has reached out to representatives for both Angelina Jolie and Brad but has not received comments back. However, a source with knowledge of the litigation tells E! News, “This is a pattern of behavior. Whenever there is a decision that goes against the other side, they consistently choose to introduce misleading, inaccurate, and/or irrelevant information as a distraction.”
Previous Investigations
Regarding the 2016 plane incident, Brad denied any abuse, and the FBI closed its investigation by November 2016 with no charges against him. In the same month, DCFS also concluded its investigation into the incident with no findings of abuse.
Winery Legal Battle
The legal battle over the former couple’s Chateau Miraval, a 1,300-acre country estate the pair purchased in 2008, began in 2022 when Brad filed a February lawsuit against Angelina Jolie for allegedly selling her interests in the winery without his consent. Angelina then filed a $250 million countersuit against the actor in September of that year, alleging he devised a campaign to seize control over the once-shared estate after their divorce.
The lawsuit, obtained by E! News at the time, alleged, as does the April 4th filing, that Angelina Jolie only sold her portion of the estate to an outside company when Brad refused to remove the NDA stipulation he had included as part of the deal.
In response to the 2022 filing, a source close to Brad told E! News that the lawsuit is “yet another rehash and repackaging of old material to try and distract from the other party’s own.”
Ending:
The ongoing legal battle between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt over their former shared winery and allegations of abuse continues to unfold. While the details of their past relationship and the events surrounding their separation remain contentious, the well-being of their children remains a priority. As the legal proceedings continue, fans can only hope that both parties will eventually find a resolution that allows them to move forward positively.
