I have a strong feeling that the 2025 Golden Globes is about to restore my faith in celebrity fashion. This group of celebs is exactly who we need to kick off award show season… I’m already breathing many sighs of relief.
If we’re being honest, award show fits have been pretty meh lately. Aside from that denim and feather slay from Kacey Musgraves, the 2024 Country Music Awards was absolutely brutal, fashion-wise. (Lookin’ at you, Keith Urban and Megan Moroney. Sorry.) Not to mention, why were Selena Gomez, Meryl Streep, and Quinta Brunson’s stylists the only ones who understood the assignment at the 2024 Emmys?? Far too many celebs in attendance were giving tacky and basic. While the MTV Video Music Awards was probably the best fashion moment of the year, I still wasn’t quite as wowed as I’d like to be, considering the event is supposedly all about shocking and extravagant looks.
But if the 2025 Golden Globes are any indication, this year is gonna be different. We have some serious heavy hitters at this award show — A-list actors who really understand the crucial role fashion plays in their careers and in pop culture. Disney x Nickelodeon crew Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and Ariana Grande are all nominated, and of course, they’re all well-versed in serving iconic looks. While Zendaya is also technically a member of the Disney crew, this queen is in a category of her own when it comes to style and It Girldom, and she’ll undoubtedly gag us all when she arrives at the Beverly Hilton. Plus, I’m expecting major looks from Nicole Kidman (Babygirl Era Version), Timmy Chalamet (a.k.a. Bob Dylan), the loml, Colman Domingo, and Miss Elphie herself, Cynthia Erivo.
It was a year of dressing on-theme at premieres — think Wicked, It Ends With Us, Challengers, A Complete Unknown —and we can only hope that theme and level of dedication continues tonight. I need my jaw to be on the fucking floor. Cross your fingers, folks.
Although I am neither a stylist nor a celebrity myself (yet), I do have a passion for judging celebs’ award show fashion. So, based on my extremely valuable opinion, these are the best and worst dressed celebs at the 2025 Golden Globes.
