Beyoncé Shines at NFL Christmas Halftime Show With Blue Ivy and Star-Studded Guests

Beyoncé brought country flair and star power to the NFL’s Christmas Day halftime show during the Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens game. Performing songs from her groundbreaking Cowboy Carter album, the Grammy-winning icon delivered a spectacle that blended tradition and innovation, captivating her hometown audience in Houston, Texas.

A Dazzling Entrance and Performance

Arriving on horseback, Beyoncé set the tone with her signature mix of grandeur and artistry. Dressed in a white fur coat, cowboy hat, and diamond choker, she opened with “16 Carriages” and “Black Bird” before transitioning to a field performance of “Ya Ya” in a sequined bodysuit.

Highlights included collaborations with Shaboozey on “RIIVERDANCE” and Post Malone on “LEVII’S Jeans,” performed from a denim-themed truck. Her daughter, 12-year-old Blue Ivy, joined as a dancer during “Texas Hold ‘Em,” delighting the crowd. Beyoncé quipped, “It’s only right that we do ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ for the first time in Houston, Texas on Christmas.”

Star-Studded Collaborations

The halftime show also featured Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, and Reyna Roberts, who joined Beyoncé for “Black Bird.” Their harmonies celebrated the Cowboy Carter album’s themes of unity and exploration within the country genre.

A Historic Album

Released in March, Cowboy Carter marked Beyoncé’s foray into country music, earning critical acclaim and chart-topping success. Her single “Texas Hold ‘Em” made history as the first by a Black female artist to top the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Despite its success, the album faced resistance from some country radio stations and was notably snubbed at the 2024 CMA Awards.

Beyoncé’s Call for Industry Change

At the iHeartRadio Music Awards, Beyoncé used her platform to advocate for inclusivity in the music industry. Accepting the Innovator Award from Stevie Wonder, she emphasized the importance of breaking barriers and pursuing dreams, even amid criticism.

“Innovation starts with a dream,” Beyoncé said. “Being an innovator means leaning on faith and trusting that God will guide you.”

A Memorable Christmas Performance

The NFL halftime show, aired on Netflix, was Beyoncé’s first live performance of Cowboy Carter songs, showcasing her versatility and ability to redefine genres. With guest stars, heartfelt moments, and a message of unity, Beyoncé delivered a performance that solidified her status as a true innovator in music.
