Bozoma Saint John has never been one to shy away from speaking her mind, and during an interview with “Virtual Reali-Tea,” she didn’t hold back when discussing her strained relationship with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH) star Kyle Richards. In her candid conversation, the fashion executive and author shared her frustrations over what she perceives as Kyle’s refusal to open up, leading to a disconnect between them both on and off-screen.
Saint John made it clear that she felt Kyle was intentionally withholding information from her, which hampered their ability to form a genuine friendship. “Instead of it being a competition about who I’m friends with, it’s like, ‘Look, if you want me to be your friend, I can be your friend, but that means you got to tell me what’s going on,’” Saint John explained. The Bravo newcomer also suggested that Kyle’s reluctance to open up might be tied to her close relationship with Dorit Kemsley, leading to tensions.
According to Boz, Kyle’s hesitance to be vulnerable left her feeling shut out. “It’s not that like, ‘Oh well, let me go over here and help this person, because I like them better.’ It is that I don’t know any way to help you because you haven’t told me anything.”
Bozoma Saint John praised Dorit for being open and honest about her personal life, especially regarding her separation from husband Paul “PK” Kemsley. She emphasized how important it is for people to be vulnerable, especially when dealing with tough times, because it helps foster genuine connections and support. “It could be really helpful for [Kyle] to follow Dorit’s footsteps and be honest about her separation from Mauricio Umansky,” said Saint John, noting that sharing struggles allows friends to support each other and provide advice.
The situation escalated when Bozoma Saint John felt that Kyle might have been trying to recruit her to her side in her ongoing feud with Dorit. During a recent episode of RHOBH, Kyle brought up a 2022 rumor about Dorit being “too touchy-feely” with Mauricio Umansky. She showed Saint John a screenshot from the episode, which only deepened the divide between the two women.
Saint John wasn’t having it, quipping, “I’ve been spending a lot of time with Dorit, so maybe Kyle wants to give me her perspective, so that I can have a more balanced opinion –– or maybe so she can win me over onto her side.”
