BRIT Awards 2025: Aussie bands to battle it out for International Group of the Year at BRIT Awards

It’s a battle of the bands at this year’s BRIT Awards.

The UK’s answer to the Grammy Awards announced the 2025 nominees online on Thursday evening (Friday morning AEDT) with two Aussie bands nominated in the International Group of the Year category.

Melbourne’s Amyl and the Sniffers will go up against Queensland outfit Confidence Man, as well as Fontaines D.C., Future & Metro Boomin and Linkin Park when the awards are announced in London in March.

Charli xcx leads with five nominations, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year.

Not far behind is Dua Lipa, The Last Dinner Party and Ezra Collective, who all received four nominations each.

The Beatles earned their first BRIT Award nomination in 48 years – for Song of the Year for Now And Then.

The Cure nabbed their first nods in more three decades, up for Album of the Year and Group of the Year.

Jack Whitehall is returning as BRITs host for the fifth time after a three-year absence.

The comedian previously hosted the event for four years straight from 2018 – 2021.

The ceremony will take place at London’s O2 Arena on Saturday, March 1 (Sunday, March 2 AEDT).
