British TV legendLorraine Kelly has shared an update with followers after having her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed in a recent preventative surgery.

The 65-year-old TV presenter shared with her fans on X, formerly Twitter, that she is “recovering well” after undergoing the procedure earlier this week.

“Thanx for all your lovely messages, I’m recovering well,” she wrote.

Kelly, who hosts her self-titled morning TV show Lorraine, continued to shout out her TV team who have kept her breakfast show running while she’s off air.

“So proud of my top team – punching above our weight and bucking the trend. Just heard our ratings are up – we had the highest March for four years.”

She then thanked her editor and the rest of “the gang” who “always know how to cheer [her] up”.

Kelly shared a video from her hospital bed last weekend, revealing that she was due to undergo the surgery.

“Just wanted to let you know I’m having a wee procedure today, I’ve not been feeling all that well for a little while so I have some scans and tests and I have to have my ovaries and my tubes taken out,” she shared.

She reassured fans that it is “purely preventative” and would be a keyhole surgery which she said “is incredible”.

“I’m being very well looked after and I’ll obviously see you really soon and I’m going to be totally fine. See you soon,” she added.

She added in the caption: “Getting keyhole surgery – all preventative – feel very lucky to be treated so well.”

After her procedure, she shared a photo to Instagram with her medical team to confirm she was home and well.

“Huge thanks to these kind, caring, gorgeous professionals who took care of me at Heatherwood Hospital,” she wrote.

“Back home now and following doctors orders to rest up – My surgeon Mr Ahmed Rafaat has been so reassuring throughout – and I can’t thank the whole team enough.”

Kelly has been flooded with well wishes from friends and fans in the comment sections of her recent posts.

“We miss you and can’t wait to have you back with us soon,” Kennedy commented.

Kennedy also shared a post of her own writing, “we’ve been overwhelmed with gorgeous messages for [Lorraine]. Looking forward to her being back to her mischievous self soon.”

”Sending lots of love,” commented Amy Dowden MBE, known for her role on the BBC TV show Strictly Come Dancing.

“Lots of love Lorraine,” wrote Love Is Blind UK host, who recently underwent a keyhole surgery of her own.

The procedure Kelly has undergone is called a Laparoscopic bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy it is typically performed as a preventative surgery for people at a higher risk of breast and ovarian cancer.
