On Wednesday, August 7, 2024, a leak from Activision gave fans a sneak peek at the new Warzone map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The leak has caused quite a stir among players, with many expressing concerns about the map’s design.
The leaked footage shows a map called Avalon. It was accidentally uploaded to the PlayStation Network database. This made it accessible to PlayStation 4 users. The leak was first reported by Charlie Intel, a popular source for Call of Duty news.
Avalon looks very different from previous Warzone maps. It has a small mainland area, but most of the map is water, with many small islands spread across the water. This design has not been well-received by many fans.

After the leak, Activision tried to remove the footage from social media. On X (formerly Twitter), many videos were taken down. In their place was a message saying, “This media has been disabled in response to a report by the copyright owner.” However, discussions about the map are still happening on Reddit and other platforms.
The leak also showed some new features that might be in the game. These include a “human meat shield” feature, sideways diving and shooting, and something called omni-movement. However, most of these clips have also been removed from the internet.
It’s important to note that Avalon has not been officially confirmed as the next Warzone map. However, it seems unlikely that Activision would create a whole map without planning to use it.
Fans won’t have to wait too long for more official information about Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Activision has announced that more details will be revealed later this month as the game’s early access period is approaching.
The early access period will start on August 30, 2024, and end on September 4. It will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. After that, there will be an open beta from September 6 to September 9.
For those eagerly waiting for the full game, the release date is October 25, 2024. This gives players two months after the beta to prepare for the new Call of Duty experience.
As these dates approach, we expect more official information from Activision. This might include confirmation about the Avalon map and explanations of the new features seen in the leak.
