Guy Pearce and Carice van Houten’s shock split was revealed on Wednesday.
The Dutch actress and Game of Thrones star, 48, shared an announcement post on Instagram revealing the pair, who share a son together, haven’t been together ”for years”.
And just hours later, proving the pair are on great terms, van Houten shared a tribute to her former Neighbours star ex, 57, as he scored an Oscars nomination.

Today’s post comes after van Houten addressed her personal life and confirmed her shock split with the actor.
Underneath a selfie of the pair together, she wrote that they are “great friends” but “haven’t been a ‘couple’ for years.”

“I don’t usually engage in discussions about my personal life, but because of a number of conclusions in the media last week regarding my relationship with Guy, I wanted to make something clear,” she began.
“He and I are great friends and love each other very much but we haven’t been a ‘couple’ for years. (Sorry not to mention it earlier).”
She went on to say the pair are committed co-parents and are on great terms.
