It turns out the duo, pictured here in 2003, met in high school.
Speaking with People at a screening for Stile’s directorial debut Wish You Were Here on January 15, Carlton shared that they met in ninth grade.
“I’ve known Julie since, like, ninth grade biology class, so we’re just living out life, man, just looking for the next exciting thing to do,” she said.
Speaking of how far the duo have come since their teenage years, Carlton expressed her pride for Stiles.
“I think it’s a dream,” Carlton says.
“I really do think it takes a lot of hard work and navigating a lot of tricky situations, but I think friendships really matter, and I can’t speak for her, but I think she should be really proud of the work that she’s done and where she’s headed.”
