Isla Fisher has revealed she is stuck in Queensland ahead of Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
The 49-year-old Aussie actress has shared a series of Instagram Stories confessing she is among the more than four million people in south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales being urged to finalise their preparations for what experts believe is likely to become one of the most significant weather events in Australia’s recent history.
Fisher, who has been filming Spa Weekend in the Gold Coast, first shared an ominious photo of darkening storm clouds.

“Cyclone Alfred is coming,” she captioned the snap.
As Queenslanders rushed to the shops to prepare for the storm, aisles in grocery stores were quickly cleared.
Fisher shared a glimpse of the stripped bare shelves as she tried to stock up on supplies for the cyclone, which is still forecast to make landfall as a category two storm though its slowed progress has sparked fears it could generate more power.

The Confessions of a Shopaholic star shared a final update of her preparations, writing over a photo of herself, “Hunkered down waiting for the cyclone.”
Fisher did not reveal whether her three children – Olive, 18, Elula, 15, and Montgomery, 10 – whom she shares with ex-husband Sacha Baron Cohen, are with her in Queensland.
She isn’t the only star preparing for Tropical Cyclone Alfred, with pregnant Neighbours alum Madeleine West confessing she is “terrified” of the impending storm.

The 45-year-old actress and six children reside in northern New South Wales’ Byron Bay and are preparing for the cyclone, which was originally forecast to make landfall tonight or early Friday morning.
It’s now thought the storm could cross the coast later tomorrow or even Saturday, though some power outages have already been reported in Queensland.
“Just want to confess that, like many right now, I don’t feel brave, fearless or resilient. I feel small, concerned and a bit scared,” she wrote on her Instagram Story on Wednesday.

In a separate post, West was pictured clearing flood damage in 2022, writing: “As we wait to see what havoc Alfred wrecks, I’m sending buckets of love to everyone in SE QLD and NE NSW today.”
“No matter what happens, we’ve done it before, we will do it again. And we have each other,” she said.
“This is a region that is never afraid to get its hands dirty, or lend a hand to help both friend and stranger. I’m so proud to be a part of it. Stay safe everyone 🙏❤️.”
