Davina McCall has revealed she has a benign brain tumour and will soon be undergoing surgery to have it removed.
The beloved TV presenter, who earlier this year was awarded the Special Recognition Award at the NTAs, took to Instagram to share the health update with her fans.
In a video posted to the social media platform, The Masked Singer judge explained how she got her diagnosis.

“A few months ago, I did a menopause talk for a company and they offered me a health scan in return which I thought I was going to ace,” McCall said. “But it turned out I had a benign brain tumour called a colloid cyst which is very rare – three in one million.
“So, I slightly put my head in the sand for a while and then I saw quite a few neurosurgeons, I got lots of opinions, and I realised that I have to get it taken out.
“It’s big for the space. It fills the space. It’s 14 millimetres wide and it needs to come out, because if it grows it would be bad.
“So, I’m having it removed via a craniotomy. They go through the top of my head here and through the two halves of my brain to the middle, get the cyst, empty it, take it out, Bob’s your uncle.
“So, say a prayer for me. I am in good spirits.”

Sharing how she’s feeling emotionally, the former Big Brother presenter said: “I’m okay. It’s been up and down obviously. We’ve been through a lot.”
McCall went on to explain how she plans to be away from social media for a while during her recovery period.
“I don’t want you to worry about me – I’m doing that enough as it is,” she laughed. “But I’m not worrying too much. I am in a good space, and I have all the faith in the world in my surgeon and his team.”
