Scottish star Callum Kerr is facing insurmountable tragedy.
The 30-year-old actor, model and country musician has issued a statement on behalf of his mother and stepfather’s four children after the couple were found dead at their home in a village south of Villefranche-de-Rouergue, France.
“At this time, Callum Kerr and Amanda Kerr are grieving the loss of their mother, Dawn Searle (née Smith, Kerr), while Tom Searle and Ella Searle are mourning the loss of their father, Andrew Searle,” Kerr’s statement, shared to his 567,000 Instagram followers, began.

Kerr – who rose to fame on soap opera Hollyoaks and Netflix’s Virgin River – then requested privacy and thanked his fans and the public for their understanding.
On Thursday (Friday in Australia), the bodies of New Zealand-born Dawn Searle, 56, and Andrew Searle, 62, were discovered by a neighbour.

The couple had moved to Les Pesquies, a popular holiday destination due to plethora of wineries and vineyards smattered throughout, from Scotland around 10 years ago.
”Both died violent deaths, but I can’t establish that either was a homicide. All hypotheses are still being examined,” Nicolas Rigot-Muller, a public prosecutor for the area, told The Telegraph.

No weapons have been recovered from the property grounds, and a murder investigation has been launched.
Post-mortem examinations are set to take place this week.
Andrew Searle worked investigating financial fraud, including looking into financial scams run by organised crime groups, before retiring to the area a decade ago.

He and Dawn Searle married in September 2023, with Kerr walking his mother down the aisle at the ceremony.
“Not many people can say they walked their own mother down the aisle. What a pleasure!! I love you mum,” Kerr wrote at the time.
“Congrats to Dawn and Andy on their wonderful wedding day and here’s to a tremendous life together for the happy couple 🥂”.
