Mescal sparked romance rumors with his Normal People co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones after the show aired, as the duo formed an extremely close friendship after starring alongside one another. The actress, known for her work in films like Where the Crawdads Sing (2022) and Twisters (2024), has spoken fondly of her close pal, telling Variety, “Paul is one of my lifetime best friends. He’s an incredibly grounded person and I am too, I think, so it’s nice to be able to have those touchstones and those people you can laugh about it with and be lighthearted with.” Despite the chatterings of romance, however, this duo seem to be nothing more than friends.
Paul Mescal and Phoebe Bridgers: a love story that had fans talking
Mescal and singer Phoebe Bridgers first exchanged pleasantries via X, when the musician shared a post about finishing his hit series Normal People. From there, the seed was planted, and their friendship eventually blossomed into more. Things continued publicly between them when they participated in an Instagram live together, and in 2020, he commented on their relationship in an interview with GQ, calling her a “lifesaver.” He continued, “To have someone to lean on through such a mad, mad time has been invaluable.
