Elon Musk is fighting back after Ashley St. Clair sued him for custody of their baby son. According to PEOPLE, St. Clair’s legal team revealed that the tech mogul “financially retaliated” against his child who he shares with the author. This response comes after St. Clair filed a petition for custody of their son, identified as R.S.C., with the New York Supreme Court last month. The team also mentioned that Musk cut back on child support after being sued.
Ashley St. Clair’s legal team claims Elon Musk has ‘reduced his financial support substantially’
Ashley St. Clair’s suing Elon Musk for custody of their baby son has met with some retaliation from the Tesla CEO himself. PEOPLE exclusively reported that St. Clair’s legal team revealed how Musk reduced his kid’s child support “substantially and unilaterally.” The team further noted that this action came after the author “was forced to bring this matter to court.”
Musk allegedly refused to respond to St. Clair when she tried resolving the issue privately without any publicity. The legal team also claimed that the tech mogul “filed an emergency application to gag” the author. He reportedly did so to prevent her from speaking about his actions. Although the court denied the emergency nature of the application, “it is still pending.”
Meanwhile, Ashley St. Clair is “vigorously opposing” the application to be able to speak out about the matter. The legal team further pointed out the hypocrisy in Elon Musk’s actions. On one hand, he applied for a gag order that prohibits the author from communicating. On the other, he freely communicates via his social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
The legal team’s exclusive statement to PEOPLE continued, “Given that Mr. Musk is dedicated to transparency in government, it would be helpful if he administered his own life by the same principles.”
In February, Ashley St. Clair filed for custody of her son, R.S.C., who was born in September 2024. In the petition, she alleged that Elon Musk was the father but he was absent at the time of the child’s birth. She further claimed that the Tesla CEO only met the boy three times and showed no involvement in the kid’s upbringing.
