What I love about Tom Sandoval is he is a chameleon. A man of many talents, one can say. He started his working life as a model in Florida, where he posed for magazines and walked the runway. Then, he moved cross country to Los Angeles, where he set his goal of becoming a mixologist while working at SUR. He still tried his best to break into the acting and modeling world. But he found his niche on reality TV, where he became a Bravo star. Now, the Vanderpump Rules star thinks of himself as a singer and is ready to serenade newlyweds on their big day. Lord, give us strength.
Tom Sandoval was a hit as a wedding singer
In May 2023, Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras were asked and paid to be the entertainment at a wedding. According to People, the happy couple was over the moon with their decision. The outlet shared that in January 2023, Jenn Wright, the blushing bride, hired the Vanderpump Rules star to be the entertainment for her wedding in Santa Barbara, Calif. It turns out the bride had a friend who was close to a member of the band, so she had a natural in. Jenn was given a “discount” and only paid them $16,000.
“It was honestly so much fun, and I don’t think anybody left the dance floor. He was just super fun and got everyone pumped up,” Jenn gushed. The wedding took place during the height of Scandoval, which means attendees were given a heads-up before arriving. But most guests seemed to agree that hiring him as the wedding singer was a major hit. Jenn told the outlet, “I think the overall sentiment was just kind of like, ‘Alright, like let’s see what they got.’ Once they took the stage, he had a blast. I think the whole band had a blast. Everyone was really into it.”
Tom Sandoval and The Most Extras playlist rocked
As for the wedding set list, Tom and his band were said to play mostly 80s and 90s songs that were “fun.” During his concert tours, Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras’ playlist includes songs like Electric Love, Superstar, Sex is on Fire, We Are Young, and I Write Sins, not Tragedies. The wedding guest footage, which was shot at the Hotel Californian, showed the bride and her friends and family jumping around the dance floor with one guest singing into Tom’s golden mic. Both the former Vanderpump Rules star and wedding guests looked like they were having the time of their lives.
The bride’s best friend, Taylor Ulrich, even got in on the fun and posted their video on their social media. One comment read, “Incredible use of free will,” while another noted, “My ego couldn’t handle him stealing my thunder on my wedding day.” Taylor made another video sharing, “All of you that were in the comments saying between $25,000 to $40,000 is accurate. It was actually so fun. The band was really good,” Taylor told the outlet. “He’s a little off, but he’s still good.”
Tom Sandoval isn’t the worst wedding singer
I imagine Tom was a pretty decent wedding singer. He is spunky and a bit eccentric, which probably makes for one heck of a performance. And let’s be honest, $16,000 for a wedding band is a steal, especially when a six-piece band can go for $40,000. If anything, Tom was professional in his new business venture, and I imagine he might have more bookings ahead of him. Personally, would I hire him to sing at my wedding, I think so.
Putting aside Scandoval, Tom would be a good bang for his buck (no pun intended). He is passionate about his vocals as fans just saw on The Traitors. The latest episode showed Tom having to memorize lullabies backward sung by creepy dolls. But he nailed it and earned $20,000 for the group prize pot. For now, I don’t think Tom will be taking his tour to reception venues around the nation, but it would be smart if he did.
The Vanderpump Rules is available to stream on Peacock.
