Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard’s little-seen comedy When You Finish Saving the World is now available to watch on Netflix UK and Ireland.
Also starring The Room Next Door‘s Julianne Moore, the film focuses on the strained relationship between a mother who runs a DA survivors centre and her son, who feels she is indifferent to him.
As another mother-and-son pair seek shelter at the centre, the protagonists start to examine their relationship more and see if they can repair their broken bond.

After a premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2022, the film received a very brief theatrical release in the US through A24, and wasn’t released on the big screen in the UK at all.
When You Finish Saving the World also stars 13 Reasons Why‘s Alisha Boe and is the feature directorial debut of Jesse Eisenberg.
The film’s addition to Netflix comes as Eisenberg’s latest directorial effort prepares to launch in UK cinemas.
Out on January 10, A Real Pain stars Eisenberg and Succession‘s Kieran Culkin as cousins who travel to Poland to honour their late grandmother and connect with their Jewish heritage.

Following its Sundance premiere last year, the film debuted to a highly impressive 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and currently stands at 96% at the time of writing.
Meanwhile, filming has wrapped on the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, with Millie Bobby Brown marking the occasion with an emotional video.
“I am nowhere near ready to leave you guys,” she said about her fellow cast and crew. “I love each and every one of you, and I’ll forever carry the memories and bonds we’ve created together as a family. I love you. Thank you.”
When You Finish Saving the World can now be streamed on Netflix UK and Ireland.
