She’s known for portraying the beloved Dr. Meredith Grey on the long-running medical drama Grey’s Anatomy.
But now, American actress Ellen Pompeo is gearing up for her next on-screen appearance – her first major project in 20 years.
The star, 55, hit the red carpet in Los Angeles on March 13 to celebrate a screening of her new TV miniseries, Good American Family.
For the red carpet appearance, Pompeo looked stylish in a sleek white one-shoulder gown, which featured a daring cut-out over the shoulder and bust.
The star completed her look with jewels, including chandelier earrings and a bracelet, and styled her hair in tousled curls.
Her makeup was complete with a golden eye and a deep nude lip.
The show centers around a married couple who adopt a child with dwarfism, but mystery surrounds her and her actual age.
It’s believed to be based on the true story of Ukrainian orphan Natalia Grace, whose adoptive parents alleged she was actually an adult but pretending to be a child.
The star told People about the new role: “It was like, ‘Wow, this is intense. How would we pull this off?'”
“And I said, often, ‘This isn’t for me.’ And then everyone around me convinces me that this is something you should take seriously and do.”
Pompeo scored the role of Dr. Meredith Grey back in 2005 and has been on Grey’s Anatomy for 20 years.
She also has appeared in Station 19, a spin off of the medical drama and starring as the same character.
