On May 15, 2024, Howie Mandel, the beloved America’s Got Talent judge, opened up about his latest streaming obsession and everyday quirks, proving that even celebrities have relatable moments.

In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly, Mandel, 68, he revealed his recent binge-watching pick. “I just finished ‘Baby Reindeer,’ and I’m still reeling from it,” he shared. “As a comedian, the show hit home. It’s based on true events, which makes it all the more gripping.”

The series, which debuted last month, draws inspiration from comedian Richard Gadd’s real-life experiences with stalking and personal trauma. Gadd stars as a fictionalized version of himself, with Jessica Gunning portraying his stalker, Martha.

Mandel’s latest venture as the face of Skechers’ Slip-ins campaign aligns perfectly with his well-known aversion to germs. “You’ll spot me wearing them on AGT this season,” he mentioned. “They’re a game-changer for someone like me who avoids touching shoes or laces.”

When asked about his laundry habits, Mandel’s response was quintessentially him: “I’ve never done laundry. My germaphobia means I can’t handle clothes once they’re off. I’d rather buy new ones.”

The comedian also shared a glimpse into his playful relationship with fellow AGT judge Heidi Klum. “We have this ongoing joke where she’ll send me glamorous beach photos, and I’ll respond with pictures of my mundane surroundings in Tarzana,” Mandel chuckled.

In a surprising revelation, Mandel admitted to his less-than-stellar Uber rating. “I like to mess with drivers by selecting ‘no conversation’ and then chatting away. It’s all in good fun, but I tip well,” he explained.

Mandel’s candid responses and self-deprecating humor continue to endear him to fans, proving that beneath the Hollywood glamour, he’s just as human as the rest of us. US Magazine
