Jane Fonda’s International Women’s Day message to the next generation

EXCLUSIVE: Jane Fonda stops for a moment, making the question seem to linger in the room. Her black-framed small sunglasses are perched on her nose, and pulling her hair back is her grey cropped hair, which has a gold ring on it. Tomorrow is International Women’s Day, March 8, 2025, and 9Honey has posed these questions to the icon: To today’s generation of young women, what would she have wished to share? Furthermore, what would she say to her former self if she were given a chance? After a few moments she says that both the answers are the same in nature.

“Don’t give up. ‘It will change,’ Zelma says matter-of-factly, despite her 87 years old年龄)[“It’s only going to get better, dear,” That was implied bluntly by the octogenarian lady, Zelma. “It’s so hard to be young. It has become something very difficult during my era, the 1940s, and the 1950s, to be specific. But today? It’s so much tougher. Try not to worry, someone/something has to man the painful journey.”

Jane Fonda is ready to pass on her knowledge to the younger generation of women who strive for change.

It was in 1960s that the much-adored Hollywood actress and celebrity stepped on the political limelight and became a militant fighter for women’s rights for more than five decades strong for equal rights for women. She established the Hollywood Women’s Political Committee, HWPC, in 1984, founded the Jane Fonda Center for Adolescent Reproductive Health in 2001, and co-founded the Women’s Media Center in 2006. It must be noted that Fonda is a self-proclaimed feminist, she has experienced rape and abuse, supporting BIPOC and ΙfqLQ\QLQJV celeste and changing the culture of the entertainment industry and society while continuing to mesmerizing audiences on the big screen.

Not just in acting: since her initial method of fame, Jane has been involved in some kind of activism for more than 50 years. (Bettmann Archive)

Still, for the vast majority of her existence, she’s been battling for women in Hollywood and women globally to earn their rightful place. And she’s not done yet. That’s why she’s encouraging the new generation to continue striving even if things seem impossible to accomplish at any given time.

“I believe one of the most important things that is happening in the world today is youth emancipation,”she declared taking on the passion of a true reformist in her eyes. ‘They are demonstrating about climate change, the rise of extremism, increasing inequality – all the things that are damaging children today. It refers to an aspect of patriotism in a positive way and come out to say that, when people get to stand up and fight, it does make a difference.

Given the circumstances, the world is merciless for young women at the moment. Policies of male supremacism, increasing sexual harassment, and the need to work and be a wife, mother, etc., have become a constant threat. Just the simplest of aspects that seem easily distinguishable seem to be complicated: Who am I? What do I need to do? Where do I even start? Fonda gets it. For instance, she said: “It must be so hard when you’re young to contemplate so many questions”. They thought about maria and how even she did not know who she was at their age. But when you’re really old, say, beyond the age of 40 years, it is no longer frightening. As if she had a whole life experience to pull from.”

Fonda is now 88 years old, and she is wise, which comes with age and is something she did not possess in her 30s, 40s, or even 50s. She is willing to impart this experience to the female successors on this International Women’s Day.

Fonda has this knowledge at her disposal, and she wishes to impart it to the younger women who aspire to become like her.

With two Academy Awards, seven Golden Globe Awards, aerobics videos of the 80s, and long dearest land activism later, one can bring two gems of advice that Jane would tell her of her younger self – first, don’t worry about the small things, second – don’t give up when you are young.
