In an interview on “The Pivot” podcast, he recalled his ex’s recent arrest on drug charges, noting how it affected the 16-year-old. The country star broke into tears as he emotionally remembered witnessing his daughter heartbroken over seeing her mom’s mug shot.

Jelly Roll has been open about his battles with addiction and continues to spread awareness on the topic. During his appearance on “The Pivot” podcast, the rapper shared how addiction had taken a toll on the family. He also noted that his ex has struggled with drug addiction, and it impacted their daughter, Bailee Ann.
Roll opened up about witnessing how Bailee dealt with her mother’s addiction struggles. He said. “I’ve seen the effect that it had on her. Like I’ve got a 16-year-old, almost 17-year-old upstairs, that it’s truly affected her life.” The country singer noted that the addict isn’t the victim in such situations, but it’s the family. Roll also clarified that the addict is “a victim of the disease.”
He further recalled Bailee’s mother’s recent arrest over drug charges and how the 16-year-old reacted to finding this information from a news article. The musician revealed that it “broke” her heart. Roll confessed that his daughter knows about his mother’s addiction struggles. The star continued, “But her having to see the mug shot of her mother with just ate up meth on her face,” he paused before getting emotional and fighting back tears.
While crying, Jelly Roll explained that he had to witness Bailee “go through it all over again,” first with his own struggles and now with her mother. The “Save Me” singer shared that he’s had therapy and built a relationship with God to help him move on from this, but his daughter “don’t have any of those tools. She’s still gaining those tools. This hurts her.”
Jelly Roll is a dad to two kids — daughter Bailee Ann and son Noah Buddy. The singer and his wife, Bunnie XO, were granted full custody of Bailee in 2017 over her mother’s addiction struggles.
