Karen Huger’s Non-Attendance at RHOP Reunion Could Signal the End of Her Run – All About The Real Housewives

Karen Huger has made a notable absence from the Season 9 reunion of The Real Housewives of Potomac following her conviction on DUI charges.

Bravo unveiled the seating arrangement for the reunion special, and Karen Huger’s name was conspicuously missing, dispelling any rumors regarding her attendance.

Host Andy Cohen was flanked by Gizelle Bryant and Mia Thornton at the front of the couch, with Ashley Darby and Wendy Osefo seated beside them. Stacey Rusch and Keiarna Stewart sat furthest from Cohen.

In a statement shared exclusively with The Daily Dish, Karen’s manager Ryan Tresdale said, “Karen made the important decision to enter a private recovery program, so was unable to attend the reunion taping today. She was fully supported in this choice. We stand behind Karen as she embarks on this meaningful journey and are proud of her for taking such a significant step forward in her personal growth.”

The reality TV star is facing serious legal repercussions after being convicted on five out of six charges linked to a car accident in March 2024. According to Fox5 DC, Huger was found guilty of DUI, negligent driving, failing to maintain control of her speed to prevent a collision, and failing to notify authorities of a change of address. She was acquitted of reckless driving charges.

Throughout Season 9 of RHOP, Karen Huger’s DUI case cast a shadow over the show, but due to the ongoing legal proceedings, she was limited in what she could share. Despite attempts from her co-stars to press her for more information, she assured them that the truth would eventually come to light. However, with her absence from the reunion, her fellow cast members won’t have the chance to confront her about the verdict.

Huger’s sentencing is scheduled for January 29, where she will learn if she faces prison time, which could be up to two years.

In a statement to People, Huger’s lawyer, A. Scott Bolden, expressed disappointment in the verdict but assured that an appeal would be pursued. “Although we are disappointed in the jury’s verdict, we, of course, respect their decision and appreciate their time hearing our case. We continue to reserve Mrs. Huger’s right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf. We appreciate your support and prayers for Mrs. Huger and her family at this time.”

Following the verdict, body cam footage of the incident was shared on social media, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.

While Huger’s absence from the reunion marks a notable absence, it doesn’t mean she’s permanently written out of RHOP. A similar situation occurred with The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary M. Cosby, who skipped her Season 2 reunion to avoid facing her castmates’ scrutiny. Cosby did not return for Season 3, but made a return as a “friend of” in Season 4, eventually rejoining as a full-time cast member in Season 5. However it is said that if you choose not to attend the reunion, you will be in hot water.
