If Kelly Clarkson missed one more day of her talk show, we would have been left with no choice but to start spiraling into conspiracy theories about her whereabouts. The pop-singer-turned-daytime-star missed multiple days of The Kelly Clarkson Show, leaving fans to wonder if something was wrong.
Unfortunately, we still don’t have a solid answer on why the American Idol winner took an extended break from her show but she did finally return with an emotional speech to commemorate the show’s 1000th episode.
Kelly Clarkson reflected on “ups and downs” in talk show’s 1,000th episode
For weeks, Kelly has called upon random celebrities to fill in for her on The Kelly Clarkson Show. At one point, she even had Bravo’s Andy Cohen showing up for hosting duties. Still, details about her absence remained under wraps.
One source told TMZ that she was dealing with a “personal matter” that shouldn’t be any “cause for alarm.” We were kind of expecting her to return with a brand-new face or some other plastic surgery reveal.
During the Friday, March 20 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, she finally made her return, effectively debunking our plastic surgery theory. However, her dramatic speech about the show’s 1000th episode has some folks wondering if there’s something more happening behind the scenes.
“We have laughed together, we have cried together with beautiful stories, sang together with some people, danced together, celebrated and competed together. I’ve lost, alone, a lot,” Kelly told her audience.
She continued, “We created a community and supported each other through a lot of ups and downs — a lot of ups and downs personally as well.”
Although Kelly didn’t name any names, it’s safe to assume that some of the personal “ups and downs” she’s describing relate to her messy divorce from Brandon Blackstock. Not only were they married for nearly seven years, but he also worked as her manager. She’s been vocal about the painful process.
Ultimately, Kelly did not address her absence from The Kelly Clarkson Show. But, you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that she’s back on air. Cheers to 1,000 more, Kelly!
