The 2025 Oscars on March 2 marked the unofficial end to awards season, and now that all the speeches have been given and the trophies have been engraved, we can reflect on the year that was. There were some close races (I’m looking at you, Demi Moore vs. Mikey Madison), and others that were pretty much a lock a season long. Kieran Culkin falls into that latter category thanks to his awards sweep for his role in A Real Pain. He took home the Supporting Actor Oscar at the 2025 Oscars, but apparently winning Hollywood’s biggest award isn’t enough for him. Kieran also wants more kids, and he singled out his wife Jazz Charton during his acceptance speech to ask for them.
This is not the first time Kieran has had family-planning discussions while on national television, and he acknowledged that in his Oscar speech. Back in January 2024 when Kieran was accepting the Lead Actor Emmy Award for his role in Succession (that’s right, he’s now halfway to an EGOT), he got up on stage and asked his wife Jazz for a third child, saying she had said “maybe” if he won. Fast forward to Kieran’s Oscar win and during his speech he revealed some more behind-the-scenes moments from his marriage. After the Emmys, he told Jazz he actually wanted a total of four kids.
“And she turned to me, I swear to God this happened, it was just over a year ago, she said, ‘I will give you four when you win an Oscar,’” Kieran shared on the Oscars stage. “I held my hand out, she shook it, and I have not brought it up once until just now. You remember that, honey? You do? Then I just have this to say to you, Jazz, love of my life, ye of little faith. No pressure. I love you. I’m really sorry I did this again. And let’s get cracking on those kids. What do you say? I love you!”
When the camera cut to Jazz in the audience she was all laughs and happy tears as she watched her hubby give his speech, although she shook her head no when he asked to “get cracking” on more kids. I guess only time will tell if their bargain plays out, but in the meantime, here’s everything we know about Kieran Culkin’s wife Jazz Charton.
Who Is Kieran Culkin’s Wife Jazz Charton?
Kieran Culkin is from a famous family of former child stars, who grew up in the spotlight, but it seems like Jazz Charton — who’s 36 years old — had a much more typical upbringing. She mostly stays quiet about her personal life, but on her Instagram she’s posted about how she was raised by her single mom in England.
According to an interview Kieran did with The Hollywood Reporter in 2021, Jazz moved from London to New York City in 2010 to work in the music department of an ad agency. A couple years later in 2012, she and Kieran met in a bar where, in true Kieran fashion, his version of flirting was to layer on some Roman Roy-esque sarcasm. “I said, ‘I’m Kieran. You have an English accent. What’s your name?’” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “She said, ‘Jazz.’ I said, ‘J-A-Z-Z, like the music?’ And she said, ‘Yeah.’ And I said, ‘Well, that’s fucking stupid.’”
He won her over with that line, which is probably proof that they’re perfect for each other. They started dating and then eloped during a road trip in Iowa in 2013, which they announced with embroidered pillows that read “Mr. Culkin” and “Mrs. Culkin.” I’m sure Kieran would have a sarcastic joke to say about that, but I honestly just think that’s all pretty cute.
The couple reveled in all their cuteness for several years before welcoming their first child, Kinsey Sioux in September 2019. Then, in August 2021, their second child, Wilder Wolf, was born.
If Kieran gets his way, there will be more baby announcements on Instagram soon. But, in the meantime, Jazz is supporting her him in more traditional ways, like with sweet Instagram posts. After Kieran’s Golden Globe win for A Real Pain, Jazz posted on IG, “I’m so proud of this wonderful manic man. What a dream to watch this all happen to one of the most hardworking but also somehow the least ambitious person I’ve ever known. Beautiful.” If that isn’t love, I don’t know what is.
