La fires update: Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt open up about losing their home and all their belongings in the LA fires

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt tragically lost their home and belongings in the LA fires last week.

The couple have been all over social media, sharing what it’s been like to return to their home which burnt to the ground, after fleeing with their two children when they received evacuation orders.

Now, they’ve opened up on Good Morning America, and revealed just how devastating the effects of the fires have been for their family.

“I feel like a ghost I don’t have a single photo now from before an iPhone existed,” Pratt told reporter Jaclyn Lee.

“I don’t have any of the dumb little that are on the shelves in your parents house, they’re all gone. Not a single, nothing.”

Montag reflected on the stress of having to leave their home, and the rush she and her husband were in to pick the few belongings they were able to keep.

”Spencer was like ‘grab anything you want to keep’ and I was like, how do you choose? You know, my brain actually stopped working because I was so overwhelmed with so many things you can’t replace,” she tearily shared.

For Pratt, the worst part of the experience was seeing their children’s bedroom burn down, and he said sharing security footage was an “out of body” experience.

”Our kids room that is like so magical, we do story time every night it’s like such a routine, so much love is in there,” he explained.

“Our sons bed started just like burning in the shape of a heart, like the fire just started as a heart, I was like this is like out of body, insane.”

The couple first met on reality TV show The Hills, investing all the money made from their fame into their home and belongings.

After losing their home, Pratt took to social media to urge fans to stream Montag’s 2010 album Superficial to help the family rebuild.

The album shot to number one on the Itunes chart, with Pratt heading to TikTok again to issue a heartfelt thank you to all those who streamed it.

“The fan support has been such a light in such a darkness for us,” Montag said.

“And it’s life-changing.”
