LA fires update: Jamie Lee Curtis pledges million-dollar donation amid the devastating California wildfires ravaging Los Angeles

Jamie Lee Curtis has pledged an incredible amount to help relief efforts in her home state of California, amid the wildfires that are devastating Los Angeles.

The Halloween star, 66, who hails from Santa Monica, revealed to her millions of followers on Instagram that her and her family are planning to donate $(US)1million ($AU1.6million) to relief efforts.

The actress said the money will be used “to start a fund of support for our great city and state and the great people who live and love there”.

“As the fire still rages on and @calfire @losangelesfiredepartment and all the available first responders and agencies involved in fighting fire and saving lives are still hard at work and neighbours and friends are banding together to save each other,” she began.

“My husband and I and our children have pledged $(US)1million from our Family Foundation to start a fund of support for our great city and state and the great people who live and love there.”

She added: “I’m in communication with Governor Newsom and Mayor Bass and Senator Schiff as to where those funds need to be directed for the most impact.”

”God bless you Jamie,” Dina Lohan commented underneath.

Actress Michelle Gomez added: “The City of Angels is gonna need more angels like you. Thank you for rallying!”

Before the announcement, she vowed in one post underneath a picture of a burning Los Angeles: “We will help each other!”

Curtis previously revealed in one social media post that her home was safe despite the devastation in the area.
