“Love Island” Fans Connect Clues And Suspect
After seven months together, Love Island contestants Ella Thomas and Tyrique Hyde, who met on the most recent season of the popular reality show, broke up in February and unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Instagram Interaction Points To Reconciliation
Fans noticed this week that Tyrique had, for a brief moment, given Ella’s most recent Instagram post a ‘like’ before removing it. Enough of an interaction; people were quick to comment on it. For example, one person wrote, “Liked by Tyrique, never will my ship sink,” and another said, “Tyrique liking this, Tyrella forever.” A third had this to say: “Something is definitely going on. I know I wasn’t the only one to see that,” and a hopeful fan simply commented, “We see you, Ty.”
Their Instagram interaction lasted, but only for a moment, and to this day, Tyrique does not follow Ella on the channel.
Love Island Journey, The Other Couples Who Came Together Again
Ella and Tyrique reached the final of their Love Island season but lost out ultimately to winners Jess Harding and Sammy Root, who have now also broken up. They would not be the first couple from their season to rekindle their romance either, with fellow finalists Molly Marsh and Zach Noble recently getting back together again after a short break-up.

When signs of a breakup between Ella and Tyrique first emerged in February, one source informed MailOnline: “Ella and Tyrique know that it’s time for them to break up. They actually do love each other so much; however, they peak upon minor matters – including those very visible from the villa – and frequently lose their tempers. Quite out of habit recently is really that they fight all the time!”
Said another insider: “This time, breakup marks the total end of everything together. Their Instagram profiles are devoid of current pictures of each other (there was not one seen today): no recent photo albums or local virtual libraries. Likewise, for WeChat – virtually any mention is now eliminated from view with a final cut across it. They are no longer following each other even… certainly that has to mean it is over and done with.”
Ella, in her first public response to this misfortune, also took to Snapchat for some Q&A. And on March 31, she frankly admitted: “Just to clarify, we’re not together… Things changed, and we didn’t communicate about that. When in different locations–dealing with our thoughts individually” Both thought this was best; may the split be amicable. Love to all. Big thanks to everyone who supported our love together as well as separately [heart emoji √].”
However, Tyrique seemingly wasn’t thrilled that Ella’s split went public. This time, in his Snapchat Q&A, he seemed to be disparagingly saying, “It’s a pity you don’t have my style but the way for people off Love Island to handle things.” When queried about the breakup on his own Snap Chat Q&A, he replied: “What you want me to say? This is my life. Did you say ours in public? Just because people on Love Island tend to make pronouncements does not mean I must…”
