As wildfires continue to wreak havoc across Los Angeles County, Madonna has offered words of comfort and encouragement to those affected. The music icon, who has a deep connection to the city, expressed her support in a heartfelt Instagram Story, sending prayers and strength to residents facing unimaginable loss.
Madonna’s Touching Message
Reflecting on her ties to Los Angeles, Madonna, 66, wrote, “LA has been my home off and on for the last 40 years.” She reminisced about her fond memories of the city, mentioning its “sunshine,” “lemon trees,” “the fragrance of Gardenia’s,” and the sense of “comfort and safety” it brought her.
Although Madonna no longer resides in LA, she empathized deeply with those affected by the fires. “I can’t imagine the pain and devastation of losing your home and that feeling of comfort and safety,” she shared.
Madonna extended her prayers to those displaced by the fires, writing, “My heart and prayers go out to all who have to start all over again.”
Praising Community Efforts
Madonna also praised the bravery and generosity of those helping in the face of disaster. “I’m so proud of everyone who is doing what they can to help out,” she wrote, adding, “It’s so nice to see people working together instead of against each other.”
She concluded her message with a blessing for the city: “God bless you all! City of Angels—Indeed.”
Wildfire Devastation Continues
As the community bands together, the fires remain a significant challenge. On Monday, a new blaze, dubbed the Auto Fire, broke out in Ventura County, burning 56 acres so far, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
