Max George Returns Home

The Wanted star Max George has shared heartwarming updates with fans following his recent emergency heart surgery. The 36-year-old singer underwent a procedure to have a pacemaker fitted after experiencing cardiac issues earlier this month. Despite initial concerns that he might remain hospitalized over the holidays, Max George was able to return home just in time for Christmas.

Christmas Miracle

On Christmas Eve, Max delighted his Instagram followers by announcing his discharge from the hospital. Sharing a cosy picture with his girlfriend, actress Maisie Smith, Max expressed his gratitude for being home. Maisie, who was seen wearing a festive red cracker hat, joined Max for a special holiday celebration. In the caption, Max George wrote, “It’s so good to be home,” accompanied by a love heart emoji.

He also shared a glimpse of his Christmas preparations, including a beautifully decorated table adorned with crackers and candles. Max updated fans from his home: “Merry Christmas, everyone. I just wanted to say that I’m back home waiting for my beautiful girlfriend to arrive at some point. Best present ever.”

Reflecting on the Journey

Earlier, Max George had provided updates from his hospital bed. While recovering, he described feeling “battered and bruised” but reassured fans that his condition was improving. In a heartfelt video, he said:

“It’s time to go home. The numbers are way, way better. Feel knackered. Slept a lot today. Few more tests to do over the next couple of weeks — something to do with my lungs, but… that’s the least of my worries right now. So yep, all good. A bit battered and bruised and knackered, but…”

Details of the Surgery

Max George surgery lasted approximately two and a half hours, with some complications due to collapsed veins where the pacemaker wires needed to be placed. Despite these challenges, Max praised the efforts of the NHS staff who performed the procedure.

In a recent Instagram post, Max revealed the scar from his operation, just below a tattoo commemorating his late bandmate Tom Parker’s birth date. Reflecting on the experience, Max wrote:

“Say hello to my little friend! Given the last 10 days, this is the best Christmas present I could have ever wished for. Pacemaker is in. Operation took around 2 and half hours. The main issue being some of my veins had collapsed where the wires were meant to go… But the hospital surgeons, doctors, and nurses at the NHS have been incredible. I owe everything to them. The surgeon kindly put my pacemaker just underneath a very special tattoo of mine… So I’m sure it’s being looked after.”

As Max continues his recovery, he remains optimistic and grateful for the support of his loved ones and fans. With Maisie by his side and a renewed focus on his health, Max George is looking forward to the new year. His resilience and gratitude serve as an inspiration, reminding everyone of the importance of family, love, and the care of dedicated medical professionals.
