Meghan Markle’s New Podcast: What We Want to Hear

Meghan Markle is a woman who has to put up with consistently negative headlines due to a hostile media. Many Brits have been turned against the Duchess of Sussex, but when asked their reasons for their distrust, struggle to come up with any actual concrete answers. Thankfully, Meghan’s success continues despite all of the ridiculous backlash. Now she’s announced a new podcast – here’s some of what we hope she discusses.

Meghan Markle’s true story with the Royal Family

We heard a little of what Meghan and husband Prince Harry had to contend with before leaving Royal Family life when the pair sat down with Oprah. But I’d like to hear a little bit more about that period of her life with the new podcast. As somebody who often goes back and forth between the United States and the United Kingdom, I grew up watching Harry and his brother William seem as thick as thieves. Will’s wife, Kate Middleton, was lavished with praise when she joined the fold. But Meghan was never given that same grace – as proven by an incredible Buzzfeed article that compared headlines about the same topics when talking about the two women. Something went very wrong.

On Meghan’s new podcast, I’d like to hear about that monarchy disruption. I don’t think it was ever a bad idea to change the status quo. But perhaps Meghan can reflect on the ways in which those attempts were made, if any. Confessions of a Female Founder – Meghan’s new podcast title – would suggest no Royal Family conversation will be taking place, though.

Meghan Markle talks about girl power

I’m all for a positive representation of women in the media. So please, Meghan, if you hear anything, please hear this. We want opinions on issues that really matter. Discuss your thoughts on the current political climate and the lack of women’s rights. Personally, I believe that Harry could be an excellent source of motivation as he has had a lifetime of training to deal with these types of conversations. We need less of the lifestyle guru here; we’ve got that with the recently-renewed Netflix series.

Meghan’s new podcast is expected to showcase conversations between Meg and other powerful women in business. Together, the women will share their triumphs and setbacks. Honestly, I think this layout could work for Meghan; she just needs to keep being herself. As long as she remains relatable, she’ll be just fine.

I want to hear a humble Meghan Markle on her new podcast

Honestly, I was pretty jealous of Meghan when it was announced that she had stolen the heart of Harry. I couldn’t help but think she had everything wrapped up in a nice little bow. A real American princess. However, along the way, her fellow countrymen, much of the United Kingdom, and the press were less than impressed. I don’t think Meghan really got a chance to show the world what she is about.

Meghan recently told People, “I appreciate everyone who gave me the grace to make mistakes and figure it out and also to be forgiving with myself through that. It’s a learning curve.”

The Duchess’ Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, was met with critiques from all of the expected places. Meghan was accused of being unrelatable, but this felt like a microaggression. Would a white woman be hit with the same backlash?

With Meg’s new podcast, I think the best thing she can do is to speak to the millions of women who are very much like her. You know, working mothers who have carved out a niche for themselves through a lot of setbacks and tears. That’s her best bet at success.
