When it comes to Melissa Gorga, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star has never been shy about sharing her beauty secrets with fans. However, it seems that some of the claims she makes about her appearance may not hold up to scrutiny. Most recently, Melissa has denied ever getting Botox, a statement that’s raised some eyebrows given her history of denials and the glaring contradictions in her past.
In a recent Instagram post while promoting red light therapy, the 46-year-old reality star shared that Botox was “last on her list” of beauty treatments. Melissa wrote, “I really want to step up my skincare routine. Botox has crossed my mind, but honestly, the idea of getting stabbed in the face every few months, is last on my list.” She went on to insist that she’d stick with red light therapy, which she claims is anti-aging and more in line with her skincare goals.
But this is not the first time that Melissa has been quick to deny any work done to her face. A quick look back reveals a history of her brushing off accusations of plastic surgery, specifically regarding a nose job.
Perhaps the most notable example of Melissa’s “I didn’t do it” approach comes from her long-standing denial of getting a nose job. Jacqueline Laurita, a former castmate from RHONJ, accused Melissa of having a nose job not once, but four times. For years, Melissa firmly denied it. She even went as far as to tell Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that the changes in her nose were simply the result of contouring — not surgery.
But, after years of denying the procedure, Melissa finally admitted that she had indeed gotten a nose job, saying it was “the worst kept secret.” She added, “It’s my secret to tell, not hers.” This admission came after Jacqueline Laurita made it public, but it was clear that Melissa had been hiding the truth for years.
Now, fast-forward to today, and Melissa is again denying any cosmetic enhancements — this time, when it comes to Botox. While promoting her skincare routine, she claims Botox is the least of her worries, and instead, she prefers the “natural” approach of red light therapy.

- People Magazine (2018): In a People interview from 2018, Melissa revealed that she had been getting Botox for a while, admitting that she was a “big fan” of the treatment. She mentioned that it helped her maintain a smooth forehead, especially as she aged.
- Us Weekly (2020): In a Us Weekly interview, Melissa again talked about Botox, saying she does it “here and there” but is careful to not overdo it.
- Instagram Posts (Various Dates): Over the years, Melissa has posted a few candid photos or stories on Instagram where she shared her beauty treatments, including Botox. For example, she has shown herself getting Botox injections in videos, sometimes jokingly talking about her “self-care” days. She’s also shared when she’s gotten botox done with her husband.
- Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey (2021): During one of the seasons of RHONJ, Melissa had a conversation with her co-stars where she opened up about Botox and fillers, explaining her philosophy of “less is more.” She also spoke about how she doesn’t believe in extreme plastic surgery but is all for small tweaks to enhance her natural beauty.
