When host Savannah Guthrie brought up her social media post and the immense support she received after it, Brown noted that she was happy “people were able to resonate with the video.” She explained how she realized “if I’m not gonna say it, you know, I’m never gonna find a good time to say it,” claiming she didn’t wanna wait any longer.
Guthrie called the “Stranger Things” actor slamming shamers “a courageous thing to do” and highlighted the massive support she received afterward. The broadcaster even asked Brown if she felt “that support” when she revealed that she “kind of shut my phone off after because I was a little overwhelmed.” Nonetheless, she continued that she was happy people felt like they were “able to connect with the video” regardless of it “being a scary thing to do,” as she didn’t know how viewers would react, but “it was nice to see that reaction.”
Earlier this month, Millie Bobby Brown took to Instagram to name and shame the “bullying” media and recent comments on her appearance. In the candid video, the 21-year-old highlighted the difficulty of growing up in the public eye. Brown recalled being only 10 years old when she started working in the industry and claimed that “people can’t seem to grow” up with her. She even read out a couple of problematic headlines that targeted her looks and did not hold back from taking names.
