Olympian Stephanie Rice reveals she and husband Mark Lassey have fallen ill on their honeymoon: ‘Trapped in our room trying to recover’

Stephanie Rice has been enjoying newlywedded bliss after tying the knot with Mark Lassey in not one, but two ceremonies.

And now, Rice has revealed that their honeymoon has taken a turn for the worse after the pair got quite sick while honeymooning in Paris, the city of love.

The former Olympic swimmer, 36, said the pair have been “trapped in their hotel room trying to recover”.

“Mark and I were so sick the past few days, so we’ve been trapped in our hotel room trying to recover,” she wrote to fans on her Instagram stories this week.

“I haven’t been this sick in over a year,” she added.

“It’s our final day in Paris and I’m honestly really glad to be going elsewhere now and changing the environment.

“We saw this amazing sky clear last night for the first time and it was stunning.”

Before heading to Paris, the pair enjoyed downtime in the Maldives on their honeymoon.

She previously said how excited she was to honeymoon in Paris as the pair have never been to France or Paris before.

“It’s so special that @mark.lassey and I have never been to Paris before, so we get to share it together for the first time,” Rice wrote underneath snaps of them under the Arc de Triomphe.

“I purposely never travelled here because I felt it would amplify my desire for love and how alone I was if I came to the city of love as a single woman.

“So to be here now, as a wife, married to my best friend, it’s a testament of how kind God is and how quickly He can turn your life around.”

She added to any single folk a bit of a motivational message, writing: “So to all my single women out there praying for their God given relationship, know that God can do miraculous things in a split second…”

“Trust His timing and His plan… it could be right around the corner!”
