“Snow White” star Rachel Zegler touched upon the difficulty of finding sisterhood in Hollywood amid rumors of a feud with co-star Gal Gadot. In a new Allure interview, Zegler discussed how the industry pits women against each other and that it is “not easy to find” a sister due to this competitive nature. However, she believes that women shouldn’t see each other as rivals and cited her search for “female friendship.” These comments came after her apparent clash with Gadot, who plays the Evil Queen in the upcoming movie, over differing “political views.”
Rachel Zegler shares all she’s looking for in the industry is a ‘sister’
Rachel Zegler was clear and precise about her desire for sisterhood in the industry, especially in light of a rumored feud with Gal Gadot. While talking to Allure, she openly mentioned that what she is looking for in the industry is a “sister” while appreciating the already-existing strong circle of women around her. “All I’m ever really looking for in this business is a sister and they’re not always easy to find,” Zegler told the magazine. She then mentioned Hollywood’s competitive nature but maintained that she doesn’t “subscribe” to seeing other women as rivals.
The “Snow White” actor advocated her supportive approach of upholding those around her. She believes in “championing your friends and championing your coworkers, whether you’re close with them or not.” Zegler had a useful pointer for dealing with “intimidation or competition,” which was to “just put on ‘Girl, so confusing’ by Charli XCX and talk it out.” The 23-year-old star also shared her experience of searching for “female friendship in the industry” for years. “There is room for all of us no matter what anybody else will have you think,” she said.
Rachel Zegler’s remarks on sisterhood in the industry came after reports of a feud rumors with Gal Gadot surfaced. Sources exclusively told PEOPLE about “tensions” between the co-stars surrounding the release of their upcoming film amid their promotional tour. These sources told the outlet that Zegler “has nothing in common with” Gadot, while their “age gap” and differing “political views” added to the tension. The duo are reportedly “not friends” and only “did a job together.”
“Snow White” will make its theatrical debut on March 21.
