Rihanna nails ‘J’adore Dior’ after a few practices in fun video
Rihanna has donned several hats over time, and recently, she captivated her fans as the J’adore Dior muse. The star fronted the brand’s newest fragrance campaign, introducing herself as the fresh face in a stunning video. It captured her speaking French flawlessly, but now fans know that it took a lot of practice to say “J’adore Dior” perfectly enough to capture attention.
On Monday, Rihanna took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes look into her practicing French for the campaign. At first, she attempted to say, “L’Or de J’adore,” but quickly realized that her voice carried a strong accent. After some guidance, she tried it several times more. With each attempt, she added more sultriness to her voice, asking questions wherever necessary.
In between these tries, however, Rihanna would break into a laugh and share jokes with her crew members. She continued her attempt to say “J’adore Dior,” proving that she is not one to give up. Eventually, she perfected the phrase, prompting celebratory cheers from her team.
The actor even added a cheeky caption to her post, saying, “just out here trying, don’t @ me✨J’adore ✨Dior ✨.” Meanwhile, fans took to the comments section to compliment Rihanna on her French speaking skills. Some found the accent adorable, while others showered her with some love.
Rihanna started working with Dior in 2015 as an ambassador for their fashion campaign. However, her bond with the brand is special because of her mother. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the singer revealed that her introduction into the J’adore Dior world was through her mom.
The pop star recalled that her mother used to sell perfumes at a duty-free store, and J’adore was one of the testers she used to bring home. “She would come home with the testers when they were down to the end and they have to put out a new tester. J’adore was one of those ones that were always there. And that’s where my love for J’adore started,” she said.
