Move over, Pete Davidson and Jeremy Allen White: There’s a new male underwear model in town, and he’s a particularly fascinating nepo baby. Robert Irwin, the photogenic son of late crocodile hunter Steve Irwin, just announced a new underwear campaign for the Australian brand BONDS. “It was a pretty immediate yes,” the 21-year-old conservationist and former zookeeper told People about doing the “Made Down Under” campaign. “I wish I could say I was very suave and cool about the whole thing, but I was like, ‘Yes! Let’s do it!” Honestly, I’m living for this man’s energy. To be cringe is to be free, as they say. For those curious — which is all of you — here’s everything to know about Robert Irwin’s BONDS underwear campaign (plus the best photos).

Robert says BONDS is “an absolute icon” in Australia. He explained to People: “I’m at this point in my life where I’m trying to do as many different and random exciting things, and if it’s something that makes me a little bit nervous, that I’ve never done before and it’s a bit of an adrenaline rush? That’s what I want to be doing.” Words of wisdom! I love how he made an underwear campaign sound like a sophisticated life challenge.
And no, he wasn’t at all concerned about posing with venomous spiders, snakes, or lizards. “I mean, I’ve spent my life wrangling crocs and snakes and rescuing animals,” he pointed out. “And so to feature a little slice of that excitement in this new campaign, mate, it has been so much fun. I’m surrounded by spiders and snakes except [this time] I’m in my undies. That’s the only difference.” According to Robert, posing in your underwear is actually more frightening than “wrangling” a crocodile. Who knew?

“Wrangling animals is easy,” he added, “and I had to do both. It was not on my bingo card.” I can’t say this Steve Irwin son underwear campaign was on my 2025 bingo card either. Robert said the whole thing felt “surreal.” He claims BONDS undies really do “keep you comfy the whole way through.” Buy his underwear and you too can be comfortable whilst wrangling animals!
When asked about how his father would have reacted to the photos, Robert laughed. “There’d probably be a few ‘Crikeys’ thrown around!” he admitted. That’s wild because that’s exactly what I said when I first saw them. You can browse Robert Irwin’s “Made Down Under” collection here.
