Celebrity Couple Splits Up

Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher have revealed that they are divorcing after over 20 years of marriage. The couple shared a joint statement on their social media stories alongside a photo of themselves.

“After a long tennis match lasting over 20 years, we are finally putting our rackets down,” they wrote. “In 2023, we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy and have been quietly working through this change.”

The statement continued, “We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”

Meeting and Marriage

Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher first met in 2001 at a party in Sydney, Australia. They married in 2010 and share three children.

In a previous interview with Australian Women’s Weekly, Isla Fisher opened up about keeping her relationship with the Borat star private, saying, “I get nervous talking about it because I feel like by not having my relationship in the public domain and not having spoken about how we met or talked about our marriage publicly, it’s remained something private and valuable to me.”

She added, “But having a shared ability to find humor in the sharpness of life is always going to bring connection, and otherwise, I just think it’s nice to keep some things for yourself.”

Rebel Wilson’s Allegations

The news of Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher split comes shortly after Rebel Wilson made public accusations against Sacha Baron Cohen in her new memoir. Wilson claims that Cohen asked her to perform a lewd act on him on the set of the movie The Brothers Grimsby in 2016.

Cohen denies the allegations, stating, “While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during, and after the production of Grimsby.”
