The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards are over for another year, and if we had a dollar for every time a recipient commented on the weight of their statuette during the 2025 ceremony, we’d have… quite a few dollars.
Demi Moore, Kieran Culkin, Colin Farrell and Anna Sawai all remarked on how heavy their trophies were as they accepted their awards.
”Thank you SAG-AFTRA for this incredibly heavy award. I don’t think there’s any way anyone can hold this for 45 seconds,” Culkin quipped.

So, the burning question is: just how heavy is the statue?
Conveniently, the SAG website has all the answers.
The trophy, named The Actor, is indeed quite hefty, weighing in at a whopping 12 pounds – around 5.4kg.
That might not be a number that turns heads in the weights room at the gym, but at an awards ceremony, where you’re likely not expecting to be doing bicep curls in a red carpet gown, it’s no wonder it’s taking everyone by surprise.
The statuette is 16 inches tall and made of solid bronze.
So, not only do the famous recipients get the glory of saying they’ve won, they also score a piece of home decor that could feasibly come in handy in an emergency.

In case you’re wondering, it takes 10 craftspeople at American Fine Arts Foundry to make The Actor statues for each year’s ceremony, a process that takes three to four months.
The big winners at today’s ceremony include Timothee Chalamet (A Complete Unknown) for male actor in a leading role, Moore (The Substance) for female actor in a leading role, Conclave for ensemble, and Jean Smart (Hacks) for female actor in a comedy series.
