Recently axed Love Island contestant Sam Taylor is pulling back the curtain on what really went down in the villa. In an exclusive interview with OK! Magazine’s new Dumping Debrief video series, the 23-year-old hair stylist opened up about his rocky relationship with islander Samantha Kenny – including one tense conversation that never aired.
According to Sam Taylor, there was major tension between him and Samantha from the moment they stepped into the Love Island villa. He revealed that Samantha seemed disinterested in getting to know him, creating an awkward barrier he struggled to overcome.
Sam Taylor Confronted Samantha Over Her Cold Behavior
“The only one really is the conversation I had with Samantha. I pulled her aside and said, ‘Look, we haven’t talked at all,'” Sam Taylor explained the unaired moment. “It felt like she was avoiding me, which was really bizarre.”
The Scottish islander admitted he point-blank asked Samantha what was going on, saying: “I just pulled her up on that and said, ‘What’s the craic? I can clearly see that you’re not interested but say that.'”

Sam Taylor alleges that Samantha made little effort to learn about him as a person during their time as villa housemates. He stated, “When we were having conversations, it was more like me asking questions about her but never her interested in anything about me. So, it was definitely a funny one.”
While he didn’t have issues with the other Love Island contestants, the hair pro said Samantha was the lone islander he struggled to vibe with from the start.
“The only person I’d say I struggled to get on with was Samantha. Straight from the start, there was a barrier, which was hard for me because I got on with everybody,” Sam Taylor revealed. “It’s rare that I don’t get on with someone.”

According to the Scottish hunk, Samantha clarified her romantic intentions as soon as bombshell Joey Essex arrived. “That’s when I knew, clearly, she’s not interested. And then Joey walked in, and she just stuck to him the whole time, so I knew it was going to happen,” he said of her pivoting to pursue Joey instead.
