Sarah Michelle Gellar has shared a tribute to her former Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Michelle Trachtenberg on social media.
Trachtenberg died suddenly, aged 39, the former child star was found dead inside her Manhattan apartment prompting a wave of tributes to the Gossip Girl star.
The Buffy star opened up her personal album and shared photos with Trachtenberg over the years, both on-set and off, in a tribute posted to Instagram.

“Michelle, listen to me. Listen. I love you. I will always love you. The hardest thing in this world, is to live in it. I will be brave. I will live… for you,” Gellar captioned the carousel of images.
The actress shared many of the same images on her Instagram Story as well, along with a repost of a meme about the TV sisters.
The meme was shared by Evan Ross Katz, a “writer and columnist best known as the world’s expert on all things Sarah Michelle Gellar”, according to his publisher.
The shot shows Gellar and Trachtenberg hugging in a scene from Buffy with text over the top.

“It doesn’t matter where you came from or how you got here… you are my sister,” it read.
Buffy co-star Alyson Hannigan similarly shared a range of photos with Trachtenberg over the years.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of Michelle’s passing,” she captioned the Instagram post.
“She brought a loving energy to the set of Buffy. My thoughts are with Michelle’s family and friends.”
US media reported it was Trachtenberg’s mother who discovered the actress’s body, shortly after 8am on Wednesday (Thursday morning AEDT).
Police say Trachtenberg appears to have died from natural causes and her death is not being treated as suspicious, however, an investigation is ongoing.

It’s understood Trachtenberg had recent medical issues, including recently receiving a liver transplant.
Her cause of death remains unknown.
