Now that Vanderpump Rules as we know it is over, Scheana Shay probably won’t be on Dancing with the Stars. But as it turns out, she’s okay with that. She’d rather be on The Traitors.
Scheana’s nonchalance over DWTS might seem odd after VPR Season 11. Fans will likely recall how big a deal it was for Scheana that Ariana Madix made it to the ballroom while she didn’t. Of course, people change.
But even though Scheana won’t be on VPR anymore, she’s still got some irons in the fire. She’s got her upcoming memoir set for a summer 2025 release. Plus, she’s slated to appear on VPR’s spinoff.
Scheana Shay says the time for DWTS “has come and passed”
On the January 24 episode of Scheananigans, Scheana explained her change of heart. “Traitors is my new Dancing with the Stars,” she said. “I genuinely don’t want to do Dancing with the Stars anymore, I don’t. I feel like that time has come and passed.” She compared it to wanting “a Range Rover for so many years, and now I’m like, it’s kind of come and passed.”
Instead, she said, “Now Traitors is the new dream, genuinely. Yeah, like that wouldn’t even be a question. I would do Traitors.” Scheana also shared that she would feel no jealousy if any of her friends were to do DWTS.
“I would still be there to support,” she said. “I’ve been going to that show since Ian Ziering was on it … And that was my introduction. I had watched it already, but being there, I was like, ‘This would be so fun to be on one day.’ And now I watch Traitors and I’m like, ‘Put me in!’” With the VPR reboot inevitable, maybe Scheana has a shot elsewhere.
