Scheana Shay recently shared her thoughts on her former Vanderpump Rules co-star Jax Taylor’s admission that he had a coke problem. Scheana – recently unmasked as “The Bat” on The Masked Singer – wishes the best for Jax as he takes steps to kick his over-20-year-long struggle with drugs.

Jax revealed on the March 4 episode of Bravo’s Hot Mic Podcast that he has “substance issues— primarily with cocaine.” He’s now over 80 days sober – including alcohol. “I can’t do cocaine without drinking,” he explained. “So I just gave up both.” Jax had a stint in rehab last year.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Scheana expressed her relief and support for Jax’s journey toward sobriety. She shared that she’s most concerned for Jax’s estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, and their 3-year-old son, Cruz.
Scheana – who we’ll see pop up in Season 2 of Jax’s show, The Valley – began, “Brittany and Cruz have always been my priority in this situation.” She added, “I know everything, and I just want her to have a peaceful life. I want Cruz to grow up with two parents who put him as their priority.”
Looking back on Jax’s decision to go public about his addiction, Scheana said, “I think that was a long time coming. Jax has put [Brittany] and her son through a lot, and I’m glad that he is finally taking care of himself and is sober. I just hope that he continues on this path, not only for him himself but for Brittany and for their son.”
Brittany gave her own statement on Jax’s admission a few days ago, and she didn’t hold back. “For the first time, I can speak openly about the extent of trauma he’s instilled on our family over the years.
She continued, “I’ve tried desperately to help him without success. I pray that one day he completely knocks this addiction, but I’m skeptical. His behaviors are still alarming and his treatment plan seems to be the bare minimum.”
