SZA expressed her respect and admiration for Kendrick Lamar in an Instagram post she shared on February 10. Lamar brought the singer-songwriter up on stage for a surprise performance during the halftime show. Following their viral performance, SZA shared some unseen background moments from the show, offering the perfect closing to the artists’ Super Bowl venture.
In the recap post, SZA wrote an earnest note to the fellow music star. She mentioned how Lamar consistently put “the world on your back.” Moreover, she credited Lamar’s encouragement and willingness to adjust to her needs, reiterating her thankfulness. The “Kill Bill” singer extended her regards to the artists’ teams. Calling Lamar a “prophet,” SZA further rejoiced she felt no nerves during the performance and felt confident representing the hip-hop hotshot on the stage.

SZA will also join Lamar on stage for their 2025 UK and Europe stadium tour, meaning the halftime show was merely a trailer.
