Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert’s divorce drama takes a new turn
Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert’s divorce battle has turned murky as the singer came forward with a new allegation against her ex-husband. PEOPLE’s report, which they obtained from the court filing, stated that the artist claimed Shumpert leaked their “divorce settlement.” The singer also added a timeline, asserting that the leak took place a few days after she posted a photo of herself and rumored boyfriend, Aaron Pierre, from the 2025 Oscars.
Taylor said that she posted the viral black-and-white “Oscar night” picture of the duo on March 3. She further claimed that by March 12, the divorce settlement was “being shopped” to several entertainment blogs. Taylor stated that the “only way” that the blogs got their hands on the settlement was if Shumpert gave it to them.
Another revelation from Taylor’s statement was her claim that the former couple “never entered” into any settlement for their divorce, which they finalized on July 1, 2024. She also requested the court for a hearing, a $1000 payment for Shumpert’s alleged “contempt,” and payment for her legal fees.
Meanwhile, Shumpert has denied the claims, according to his attorney statement. On March 19, the attorney told TMZ Sports that the basketball player has never “leaked any allegations or claims stated in any of the pleadings” or leaked any information to the media. The statement further read, “[Shumpert] denies that he leaked any information which may have served as the basis for the multiple news reports preceding the trial of this matter.”
As the divorce controversy intensifies, Shumpert’s attorney stated that the NBA star has and will not reveal any content of his “now-sealed file” or discuss content related to court orders or pleadings.
Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert are reportedly ordered to appear in front of a judge on June 24.
