This Morning announces Christmas Day special

ITV has said that There Will Be Specials on Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, and This Morning on Christmas Day.

The network has announced its daily schedule for December 25. From 6 a.m. to noon, its three most popular shows will air holiday versions.

Loose Women won’t be on TV on Christmas Day, though. Instead, at 12 p.m., James Martin’s Christmas Day will air, featuring Lorraine Kelly, Craig David, and Luke Evans as guests, as well as food made by Lisa Goodwin-Allen and baker Richard Bertinet and music by Marti Pellow of Wet Wet Wet.

That will be followed up at 2pm with Ainsley’s Festive Flavours. Brian Conley, Katherine Ryan, Olly Smith and Rosemary Shrager will join Ainsley Harriott.

ITV has also confirmed that Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, and This Morning will also air on December 30 and 31, as will Loose Women.

ITV Daytime’s managing director Emma Gormley said: “For the fifth year running, we’re delighted to share our festive scheduling ― including the return of Good Morning Britain, Lorraine and This Morning on Christmas Day, plus Loose Women in the run up to the new year.

“The countdown to Christmas has started and we’re all looking forward to sharing the magic of this time of year with those at home as the decorations go up in the studios too!”

In addition to the news, ITV shared shots of some of their daytime TV stars, like Cat Deeley, Richard Madeley, Ruth Langsford, Lorraine Kelly, and Judi Love, dressed up for the holidays.

Martin Frizell, who has been editor of This Morning for 10 years, announced last week that he would be leaving the show because he needs more time because his family’s needs have changed.

She said she was “devastated” by the news, but she also said that everyone knew why he was going.

These shows all run on ITV1 and can be watched online on ITVX.
