Once again, Travis Kelce is yapping about marriage on his and Jason Kelce’s “football” podcast, New Heights. As society impatiently waits for news of his and Taylor Swift’s engagement (which is on my 2025 pop culture predictions list), at least we can entertain ourselves with the Chiefs tight end’s various comments on sex, becoming a father, and marriage. During the January 8 episode of the podcast, a caller asked for Travis and Jason’s advice about when to have have his wedding, and Travis had a very strong opinion. TBH, I thought his answer was kind of a red flag, but you can judge it for yourself, I suppose…
Here’s what Travis Kelce said about when he wants to get married.
Travis Kelce On When He Would Like To Get Married
During the episode, a caller explained that his partner was hoping for a fall wedding, and he was concerned about that interfering with football season. (God forbid!!) Based on Travis’ response, the tight end shares that concern and will not be marrying Taylor during the fall. “I actually don’t know people who’ve gotten married in the fall,” he said. “Because all the weddings I’ve been to and all my friends always do it in the summer.” He suggested that the caller and his partner compromise on “a weekend where the team isn’t playing anybody good maybe.” I fear this is an insane response given that your wedding is more important than one football game…
Travis added, “Also, if you really do have a problem with that, maybe it’s in her best interest to not have it in the fall so that she knows you’re invested in the anniversary every time it comes around. I think you guys should duke that out.” Right, because a woman shouldn’t expect her husband to give a fuck about their anniversary if it’s during football season. Are we being for real??
He decided that in the end, a fall wedding just isn’t worth it. “I’ve seen weddings everywhere but the fall,” Travis told the caller. “So I’m not sure if the fall was a good wedding season.” Oy.
Fortunately, Jason was there to chime in with some much-needed common sense. “Brother, I’m gonna tell you right now: Do the fall and the wedding and avoid this frivolous fight that means absolutely fucking nothing,” he advised the caller. Jason added, “You can watch the football game another [time], like, record it and watch it again. Like, I don’t know what you want me to say.” THANK YOU.
The former Philadelphia Eagles star stressed, “There’s certain things that are more important than football, and if the wedding isn’t more important than football, we got some bigger issues here.”
Kylie, you’ve taught him well.
